A while ago I visited Thai Vegan kitchen with my 2 kids. We are vegetarian and wished to try something different. Place was certainly having many people when we entered so I was prepared to wait. People before me placed their order and now I was first in queue. I got fully ignored and I thought it’s ok may be they are busy. That’s irony with racism that it doesn’t have language. No will says loud that Hei We won’t attend you because you are with kids, or could be your skin color or could be when I visited with my old traditional Mom in Finnish places. No one says anything loud so you don’t get it easily.
In this confusion me and kids were waiting to be seated for more than 20min still. Many people started leaving by then and in small space kids were adjusting themself from collisions. We haven’t offered seats still. We are still standing to be seated. Kids started feeling tired and bending their knees to be comfortable and asking to go back to Kamppi. Now one more person came to order while I was convincing to kids next to door. They immediately took his order and I thought now it’s my turn. It’s ok if they are attending him while I took kids a side to talk. I stood right behind person for my turn again. Unfortunately again they fully ignored my presence and kids presence there and left the counter. Kids were hungry, feeling tired and so I asked them to sit anywhere during this. But now after this last ignorance really got it. It was like if I am not there at all. I am invisible for them. It take so long to understand racism. Our brain ask us to think differently may be and having empathy with other person who is attending many there. I decided to leave then one lady looked at me and I said if you don’t wanted to serve us then you could simply mentioned it. I was with kids. It’s not nice. She said but I have no idea. She was really innocent so I told her it’s not about you but your colleague who ignored us so badly for very long. I wish next time you make clear specification that who is allowed or not. Just say us, it’s very disappointing to face such things with young kids. We anyways came back to Kamppi and really served warmly in Taco Bell. Why I am saying Taco Bell here because it’s important to understand that not everyone and every place you experience it. It’s really few among many who really put mud on face of most...
Read moreI'd really like to like this place because the concept (vegan & queer friendly) is nice. Sadly, my experience here was just not good at all and I won't be returning. I'm confused about the amount of positive reviews as I had a totally opposite experience.
The staff is very unorganized; there are long waiting times (even when there aren't that many customers) and the food is served in random order. One of us received their drink only after almost having finished the main dish. The main dishes are not served together so one person has to awkwardly wait. The tables were dirty and each table had a different setup of random condiments which also weren't labeled. Staff should receive training in customer service as everything was just slapped down in front of you without a word. Questions were answered in an apathetic and borderline rude manner.
I've been here twice because I wanted to give the place a second chance but both times the main dish was extremely bland. Tom Yum Soup usually is very flavorful but here, the soup base barely had any flavor or spices at all, let alone salt. Both the soup and the "hot drinks" were lukewarm at most. Was hoping for the "dessert" to be better at least, but it was more salty than sweet and tasted really weird. I'm not a picky eater at all and I rarely write negative reviews but there were just too many things that were outright bad.
On a positive note, some of the starters are actually good. The dishes look nice when they're served. Sadly, that's about all the positive feedback I have. Please work on your customer service and organizing, learn to use "hello" and "here you go" and in which order items...
Read moreIt’s not a restaurant, it’s a kitchen, & with that is some important differences. You’re given the menus at the door & find yourself a seat. To order you have to do it at an automated kiosk inside (only one available). You pay there & you’re given a receipt. Then you collect all your own cutlery, napkins, water etc & take it to your table. The only time you receive any ‘service’ is when your food is brought to your table but once you’re finished you have to take all of your empty plates & glasses back up to the counter inside. Also good to know is the touch screen where you order will time out if you take too long when ordering. Food was ok but nothing amazing. The only real draw card is it’s all vegan so you don’t have to worry about which dishes to choose. Has both indoor & outdoor seating. Waitress was nice enough. Overall it wasn’t anything amazing & I wouldn’t be in a...
