I literaly hate my staying at this hotel. I made a reservation from booking for a business trip and I thought it was breakfast included but during the check-in I realized that it was not. Even though it was same price, I made the wrong option. Thank you for the confusing options booking. Anyway, The receptionist told me I can add the breakfast to my accomodation if I pay extra 114 eur and I did. But when I get the bill, the extra charge was written as bar food and bar coffee. I told them this not good to me because when I give this to my work place they will think I got an extra food from the mini bar or something and they will not pay me that. The hotel staff literally did not care about that. I talk to receptionist, I e-mailed to hotel costumer manager, I wrote to the booking customer service, even contact with the account service of the hotel. Nobody cared. The only thing they say your beeakfast is bar food so there is no problem at the bill. My friend stayed at this hotel too, with a corect booking option breakfast included. And in his bill only accommodition is written. I look like I got extra service from the hotel according to the bills. So I just wondering this. Was it reallr really hard to solve this problem and how can you think that putting the expanses as bar food on the bill would make sense. I do not think any Company will cover these kind of expenses for its workers in the business trips. Just imagine that the hotel does not have any idea about B&B...
Read moreGreat modern hotel in a good location, e.g. only 10-15min to city center, old harbor etc.|It’s central located but quiet neighborhood. |The staff is very friendly, the breakfast (included) was very nice.|If you arrive by car (we did) be advised: the parking garage was quite expensive (Helsinki apparently operates on NY/Manhatten price levels!) but not the hotel’s fault - there is NO decent parking garage anywhere else available. |The gym was nice equipped, albeit tucked a bit away in the basement next to the P1 underground parking level.||The only problem that would give us pause from staying there again: the room size.|We booked the “deluxe” room with balcony .. and were astounded how small the room was! The far end of the bed (opposite the door entering) was so tight, you have to walk sideways along the wall to get in.|No writing desk, no sofa, only one(!) chair… because nothing else would have fit. |I would not describe this room as “deluxe” and considering the advertised 226 sq-ft size, I do wonder if the balcony was included in this size calculation? |Seeing other rooms (walking by during room service) I conclude you have two options:|- Get a room without opening window (courtyard view, no fresh air, AC only) but more space or |- Balcony (fresh air!) but no space to open your luggage or even move around.|Sorry - pick and chose...
Read moreI have stayed at Hotel Mestari twice on two different occasions on two separate years and I would have no problem staying again. First of all, it couldn't be in a better location. We just walked there from the train station, even if it was late at night and in the middle of winter. Never felt uncomfortable. The rooms are very modern and efficiently laid out. I usually prefer a little bit of character but in this case I was perfectly happy with the minimal decor and the monochromatic scheme. I only stayed one night each time but I suspect I would have missed more 'wardrobe' space if I had wanted to stay longer. The bathroom was great, especially loved the walk-in shower! The beds were super comfortable and the bedding high quality.
Breakfast was amazing. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with such a huge selection of hot and cold options. And don't get me started on the sensational smoothies.
Finally, the hotel allows guests to extend their checkout time for a fee and we took advantage of this opportunity. On both stays we checked out just before 11pm to catch an overnight train. Other bigger-name hotels couldn't guarantee we would be able to stay that late. But Hotel Mestari? No questions asked!! That's a hotel that really delivers on...
