A Disappointing Culinary Journey at Weeruska Restaurant
Venturing into Weeruska restaurant, located conveniently around the corner, I had high hopes for a delightful dining experience. Unfortunately, my expectations were not met, and my visit left much to be desired.
Let's start with the food—the cornerstone of any dining establishment. The shrimp pizza, a dish I eagerly anticipated, fell short in both taste and execution. It lacked the vibrant flavors I anticipated and was disappointingly undercooked, with a runny texture that left much to be desired. The shrimp, a star ingredient, failed to shine, leaving me wishing for more flavor and a better-balanced composition. Similarly, the hamburger, another staple dish, failed to impress. It was rough in texture, excessively greasy, and lacked the evenly cooked perfection one expects from a quality burger. These culinary missteps significantly detracted from the overall dining experience and left me feeling unsatisfied.
Despite the culinary letdown, I found solace in the refreshing quality of the beer offered at Weeruska. It was indeed a highlight of the meal, providing a crisp and enjoyable accompaniment to the lackluster food offerings. However, even the best beer couldn't salvage the atmosphere of the restaurant, which I found to be dull and uninspiring. The ambiance failed to create an inviting space, contributing to an overall lackluster dining experience. Additionally, the staff's lack of attentiveness further dampened the mood, as it felt as though our needs were not a priority.
In conclusion, while Weeruska restaurant boasts a convenient location and decent beer selection, significant improvements are needed in the areas of food quality, atmosphere, and service. With attention to these crucial elements, Weeruska has the potential to transform into a truly standout dining destination in Helsinki. Until then, it remains a disappointing choice for those seeking a memorable...
Read moreRather big traditional Finnish restaurant at the heart of Alppila. Plenty of room for even bigger groups and menu is immense full of Finnish delicacies. Price to quality is a bit on the expensive side from the à la carte menu but otherwise really great place to visit especially during lunchtime. Lunch buffet cost around 11 Euros here.
Indoor atmosphere is great with interesting details and atmosphere options to choose depending where you sit. There's atleast three different areas where you can sit. You will be seated and should wait service in the front lobby especially when coming to dinner.
Service is laidback and swift which is the thing I like. Nothing too serious is just much better than those gentrification restaurants usually offer. This is a common people restaurant so don't expect super fancy service.
Overall this place is nice. Prices has gone up over the years and this place isn't my favourite anymore because of this. It used to be one of the best price to quality restaurants in Helsinki and for some even now is. I still sometimes visit here because it's really great place still. One of those traditional restaurants that should be visited if you're around this area. Menu here is quite grand indeed. Lots of different solid beverages to choose from even for #vegetarian diatary. Nowadays I only order pizzas because they're the least expensive when compared to price to quality. It cost something between 13 to 18 Euros. Pizzas are delicious and big and not spherical which is sort of popular nowadays. If you have more liquidity you should try their classic menu portions - they're great. From the main menu my personal favourites here cost more than 20 Euros nowadays which isn't too much for some but it's too much for me. Visit here if you want to taste traditional Finnish menu delicacies and want to see...
Read moreUnfortunately there is no minus numbers on ratings… Last weekend was one of, o, it was the most horrendous experiences of a restaurant I have ever experienced. Table booked for 2.5 hours, as it was a group booking, 12 persons. When we arrived the waitress was rude and had a bad attitude to get things started. She was informed we had 2.5 hours as we were going to a show. Food order taken and drinks order taken… drinks arrived about 20 mins later… that’s kinda ok. Starters arrived ONE HOUR later, we requested the main course to be processed and we where greeted with a sigh, at this stage only one round of drinks had arrived… main course arrived ONE HOUR after we got our starters, so 2 hours to get our food. However, we did not all get our food, the waitress was asked to just give us our desserts so we can go… these never arrived and we had to leave, 2.5 hours after our arrival…. We went to pay the bill and complained, why we had to pay for the food that did not arrive… however we did pay for the utter incompetence of the waitress and chef, alongside the disgusting attitude. The food that did arrive was shared, it was nothing too special and in fact doesn’t deserve any mention.
My advice is to avoid this $$$&&$ at all cost, in fact stay hungry until u find a half decent...
