The Shallot — Restaurant in Helsinki sub-region

This restaurant just opened recently and I’ve had the pleasure of eating from here twice already! The food that I’ve tried (vegetarian pizza and alla norma risotto) has been delicious. ☺️

Everything is made fresh to order and the ingredients are flavourful. The pizza is hands down the BEST pizza I’ve had in Finland (and I’m from North America, so I like to think I know my way around pizza). 🏆

The staff is also so welcoming and friendly. Both times I’ve been greeted at the door with a smile! You can tell that they put their heart into this place and it really shows.

Although both times I ordered the food for takeaway, the interior is really cozy and modern - perfect spot for a work lunch or dinner date.

Should have taken one of the actual Italian style pizzas probably.

Took Americana as I did not fancy the traditional style pizzas and it was a mistake. They clearly have this only to serve the kids as the pizza was stuffed with tasteless cheese and you could barely taste anything else. Tomato base was basically air, it was so thing and bland.

I hope the italian style pizzas are better, they had those way more in the menu so probably. If so, take these other items...

Järjestyksessä toiset pastat testattiin tänään. Loistava herkullinen ruoka, joustava keittiö, waltavat annokset, huomaava palvelu, ja mikä hinta-laatu! Rouva pyysi Carbonaran listan ulkoa, ja minä leipää. Tulee! Rouva pohti oliko paras carbo koko Hki. Minä kana, nyt lohi. Nyt vatsat on edelleen kipeenä kuin laivan buffan jälkeen, koska oli niin hyvää lohturuokaa ettei kesken todellakaan voi jättää! Uudestaan, kyllä! Jatkoon, kyllä! Vahva...
