TL;DR: Great bakery place, but not so much for everything else

Amazing pastry! Got to try out a hazelnut creme crack bun and white chocolate citrusy roll. Light but full of taste cream, accompanied by citrus jam-like filling absolutely blew my mind. Looking forward to try their future creative flavors! Vegan grilled sourdough sandwich is a masterpiece! Loved every detail. Added some pickles at home tho. Didn’t expect the sandwich to be that big, which is also a plus!

BANANA BREAD WITH WHIPPED PEANUT BUTTER ON TOP!!! (figure this one out yourselves)

Unfortunately, coffee was no good.

Attentive and friendly service is also a plus. I enjoy how much they share on their IG page of what happens behind the counter.

Breakfast: unexpectedly.. boring? Considering what the bakery has to offer, and how good they are with new ideas and twists, the breakfast plates were simply disappointing. You get a huge uncut piece of sourdough bread and a loooot of celery. And an egg (if it’s not a vegan plate, then just more celery). Definitely is not worth the price. Lunch: freshly made pasta sounded delightful, and it did indeed taste good. However, all in all carbonara pasta, which I had for lunch that day, was very bland with a note...

When we arrived, we saw that they had given our table (the one we thought we had reserved) to sb else, and they asked us to sit at a different table. When we told them that we did not want to sit there, the waiter claimed that he had informed my friend over the phone about the table, my friend clearly told otherwise. Instead of acknowledging the issue and trying to resolve it, the waiter was repeating the same words multiple times. We did not even hear the word "Sorry". We can understand that the table had been given to sb else already, and we did not ask them to replace other customers or sth like this. But we were hoping for an acknowledgement at least. I am not claiming that they lied to us, but they were incomprehensibly rude and did not want to conciliate. This is poor service.

The food was mediocre, the reason for 2 stars...

I can only judge the breakfast/brunch based on my experience. I have to say that I was a bit disappointed. I ordered a burrata toast which was good but nothing special. I also ordered a fruit bowl, but it turned out to be a small bowl of plums and nothing else. I would expect that if you pay 5€ for a fruit bowl you would get a few different ones, so it definitely didn’t feel like a good value for money. On top of that half of the plums were still raw. Luckily the staff understood and refunded us. The brunch plates are also really basic considering the price. I would expect some creativity when paying over 20€. The bread is really good and there’s no doubt about that but it just feels a bit overpriced for what it is (boiled egg, bread, ham, cheese and yoghurt). I would only go back for the pastries but...

Very trendy cafe and I had seen so much on social media about it. I went there and since I was not familiar with the different types of pastries and finnish terms, I asked the staff about the selection. They seemed annoyed about my simple questions and generally bothered by my slight indecisiveness. It was not busy at the time and I ended up choosing the blueberry donut and marbled cake. The marbled cake was very delicious and moist, but the blueberry donut was very dull and dry. I also bought a sesame bun, which had a nice crunch, but was definitely overbaked and was missing the usual delectable chew and flavour of normal sourdough. I would come back for the cake but skip out on the pastry/bread. The coffee was a nice acidic filter coffee that I am used to from CPH.

I enjoy a great Latte, I am a HUGE espresso lover. The presentation of pastries were very enticing. So we decided to try both sweet and savory, paired with lattes. The prices were moderate, but truthfully just a bit on the pricey side if I were to be totally honest. To balance the price you're paying; the quality of the food was excellent. The bakery is on the smaller side, and was very crowded when we arrived. We found a space near the window and awaited or food. The presentation and taste was divine, and the lattes were PERFECT. The only down side is that it can get very crowded and it is not a spacious vibe, like the beauty of Heritage Cafe, but it is it's own jewel of a quaint spot for a quick latte and top tier pastry.
