VENN Kotka — Restaurant in Kotka-Hamina sub-region

Me and my wife visited this establishment on a Friday evening while visiting Kotka. It was not too busy and plenty of emtpy tables. Inside it was clean and well kept. We were taken to a table of our choosing outside and given a menu. Going outside was our choice as it was a very warm and lovely evening. The menu was in finnish, english and russian. The waiter said she would return in a few minutes to take our order. The were 5 or 6 waiters working.

30 minutes later still no waiter. However 2 ladies that arrived 10 minutes after us were served promptly and where clearly friends of the waiter as the waiter spent time chatting with them only to walk past us and ignore us.

After 30 minutes of waiting, i ventured inside to seek out a waiter and place my order. I found another 3 customers in que still waiting for their order. After quing for another 15 minutes and being ignored, myself, my wife and another customer took our leave with being ignored for 45 minutes.

If you seek a place to feel uncomfortable and ignored then this is the place i recommended for you

If your looking for a friendly atmosphere and good food then this is not the place for you. Unless ofcourse you are a friend...

Aulassa kyltti joka kehoittaa odottamaan pöytiinohjausta. Näin teimme. Henkilökunta käveli hetken kuluttua ohi ja pyysi odottamaan, että hän palaa hetken kuluttua. Ja taas odotimme. Viimein saapui toinen tarjoilija joka ohjeisti ”voitte valita minkä vain paikan”. Jäi hieman epäselväksi miksi tuli odottaa ohjausta kun kaikki paikat oli vapaana? Kenties vain tavan vuoksi??

Saimme pöydän, ja tarjoilija pyysi jälleen odottamaan. Odotimme. Tuli sitten jonkin ajan kuluttua hakemaan juomatilausta. Minkä jälkeen odotimme juomia. Noin 30 minuuttia kerkesimme ravintolassa olla ja odotella ennen kuin juomat sapuivat.

Juomien tuomisen yhteydessä tilasimme ruoat. Tilausta tehdessä tarjoilija totesi että ”ruoat tulevat melko pian”

Ruoat aikanaan saapuivat, ja ilolla ne myös söimme. Ihan kelpo makuja. Kuitenkin, koska annokset (levy & kombo) olivat sen kaltaisia ettei niiden valmistus vaadi kummempaa työmäärää, ihmetystä herätti mikä niiden pöytään saamisessa kesti, silla asiakkaita oli meidän lisäksi kahdessa pöydässä.

Lasku sentään tuli lähestulkoon heti sen pyytämisen jälkeen. Kuitenkin, muutaman simppelin annoksen syömiseen kului VENN:in tahdilla 1h 45min. Se on luokaton suoritus. Lisätähti kuitenkin siitä, että vaikka toiminta oli hidasta, oli henksa kuitenkin mukavaa, joskaan eivät kyllä viipeitä pahoitelleet, vaan ainoastaan totesivat...

It's a nice place where you can eat and drink. In case of proper lunch/dinner restaurant is just next to it. In bar I've never tried to order anything bigger to eat than popcorn, skittles or mnms :-D ps. popcorn if for free :-) There is decent selection of finnish beers and ciders, I think that everybody can find something good there.
