Pizzeria Sorrento — Restaurant in Kuopio sub-region

Excellent pizza in a nice ambience that hits a sweet spot between Italian charm and not-yet-kitschy. The oven is electric, not wood, but still the pizza emanates the full flavor of Caputo 00 topped with good opinionated combinations of toppings.

The food is a bit on the expensive side though, with the Margarita starting at 15€ and then quickly escalating to ~20€. With starters we ended up with 25-30€ per person, excluding drinks.

A propos drinks - there obviously are a number of drinks not on the menu. My wife ordered an apple juice (not on the menu) that ended up costing 2,50 so it was cheaper than all soft drinks. Also there is free tap water, and as we’re all water drinkers anyway that suited us fine.

Service was very friendly and attentive. We felt right at home. The owner came in shortly before we left and we had a small chat that was fun.

Incredible italian food and a truly italian atmosphere, thanks to the friendly owner we felt immediately at home, he is such a nice person (not to mention the rest of the crew, everyone was nice and friendly). The pizza goes straight in my list of the best I ever had and it’s incredible I find this in Kuopio, you could really taste quality ingredients. The Spaghetti Carbonara were amazing as well, perfectly cooked “al dente” and served in a proper italian portion :) An amazing experience, if you’re looking for italian food...

As a chef this is the best pizza I tasted in Scandinavia. The genuine flavors and the simplicity of the dishes .

Atmosphere is good and realy polite and Service minded staff. That you could see that where enjoying being at work .

The flavors of The salami , ham and cheeses is just perfect and the sign that tell you that the Resturante has values .. not serving pizza with pineapple I just the best . ...
