Pasteria Sorrento — Restaurant in Kuopio sub-region

Amazing place nearby the center of Kuopio, near the port. You can decide to book a table inside the building or outside, I also had a really cool service, the waitress was helpful, polite and available. The prices for main dishes go from 12 to 40 euros. The wine list was HUGE with all kind of wines, I tried only the house wine and it was acceptable. I tried all kind of bars in Kuopio for an acceptable espresso, and espresso here is absolutely the best you can find in Kuopio. The menu is divided between normal dishes and children portions, with less compared to adult ones but cheaper. One of worst restaurant experiences in awhile. Retively highly priced, compared to others in the town, but food was only decent. Waiter had no clue about wines, even if the restaurant has maybe longest list of wines in Kuopio. The waiter suggested easiest alternative for him/her. The wine was good but it was explained as full bodied, regarless of the fact that it was not full bodied wine. In addition, level of customer service was lousy. Trattoria Sorrento is a rare gem hidden in the basement of a beautiful, historical Kuopian building. The staff were attentive, helpful and keen to ensure that patrons select the best dishes and wine pairings from the traditional Italian fare on offer. The ever-eccentric Paco greets visitors with Italian small talk and hospitality. I ordered the Linguine alla Vongole. The pasta was al dente and dragged me straight back to the coastal foothills of the Apennines.
