Bistro Henriks — Restaurant in Tampere sub-region

I had last night a diner at Henriks with a few of my friends (we were 12 people altogether and had booked a diner in a private room), and to summarize I will say that this was a pretty disappointing experience throughout 😔. First of all, when we arrived there the service was average - at best - and definitely not up to the standard that you expect from a place with this price range. Additionally, we realized pretty quickly that even though we had sent the restaurant our orders and food allergies more than one week prior (as the restaurant had requested from us), they did not consider our allergies at all - leaving some of our friends to eat something else than what they ordered. And more importantly, the food was average at best, and in very, very small portions (for example, we were served a pretty standard salmon when we were promised the "fish of the day" which was supposed to be some pike or whitefish). Especially the "cheese plate" was pretty laughable, picture attached as proof. I understand that when eating in a very fine restaurant, portions are usually quite small, but then again that was definitely not the case at Henriks 😞. Overall, this place is quite overrated and there are in my opinion many better restaurants in Tampere in the same, or even lower...

Henriks has left a special place in my heart, from customer service to the food and wine.

Upon arrival you are kindly greeted by the lovely staff and seated. The menu is tidy so it allows for easy decisions. The Food is simple but packs flavour and some dishes giving a real Finnish vibe to them. The food also comes at reasonable times, allowing you to enjoy each meal. The place is small, cozy and perfect for couples on a date.

Lahjaksi saadun Eat Finland -kirjan yksi ravintola on Henrik's eli siispä sinne sitten. Edellisestä käynnistä useita vuosia. Valkoisten pöytäliinojen paikat kun tuppaavat olemaan hintavia. Ajankohta ei ollut paras mahdollinen eli perjantai illansuu, jolloin osa ruokailijoista menossa vielä teatteriin . Henkilökunta fiksusti kyllä kysyi asiaa pöytävarauksen yhteydessä. Ihan ymmärrettävää, että jouduimme hieman odottamaan ruokamme - teatteriin menijät palvellaan ensin. Valitsimme kolmen ruokalajin menun. Alkupalakalani oli herkullista, kaverin täytetty pasta tomaatissa ihan jees, mutta ei mitenkään mieleen jäävä. Pääruokien kala ja päivän liha (karitsaa) olivat annoksina keskenään hyvin eri kokoiset. Kalasta ei mies tulisi täyteen. Mustaherukkajälkkäri oli todella hyvä ja annoskoko passeli. Tila on kaunis vanhan talon pohjakerroksessa. Tuvan ollessa täysi emme tahtoneet kuulla mukavan ja kohteliaan nuoren tarjoilijan puhetta. Hän kuitenkin piti kollegansa kanssa meistä hyvää huolta: viivytystä pahoiteltiin ja tyytyväisyyttä kysyttiin pariinkin kertaan. Hyvä! Sisääntulossa pari porrasta eli ei esteetön.
