We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Ravintola Liv this year! đŸ€ŽđŸ»â€ïžđŸ‘žđŸ»

The feast started with poached quail with celery and apple base, chicken broth sauce with sherry, and sliced jerusalem artichoke chips as topping. Quail was so tender that you could almost eat it with a spoon!

Next followed a two-way salmon : poached in lemon and tea, and raw. Accompanied with salmon-potato croquette, pickled cucumbers, rice paper and ginger majo. I loved the raw salmon the most!

As main dish , we had white fish with beurre blanc, potato puree, and vegetables such as carrots, onions and spinach. Highlight was the beurre blanc sauce.

Next, a cheese platter of blue cheese, cantaloupe jam and parmesan choux followed. Parmesan choux was interesting, and cantaloupe jam was very surprising - we haven’t tasted a melon jam before! Best of all was the wonderful pairing with semillon-sauvignon blanc dessert wine (no, not Sancerre! But Loupiac!). Loved the petroleum and honey flavors of this wine!

Finally the desert plate had hazelnut-milk chocolate brownie, almond foam and coconut ice-cream. I think this was the best plate of the day. The foam was so fresh and exploding (but still delicate!) with almond flavour and accompanied the heavier brownie well. The coconut ice cream was excellent on its own! Again delicate and flavourful. And yet the accompanying Brachetto multiplied the experience with its rose and honey flavours. First time I’m hearing this wine; it is a sparkling sweet wine made with Asti method but from red Brachetto grapes (instead of Moscato).

The service was very polite and friendly, and our waiter was extremely knowledgeable, especially regarding wines. It is always a delight when you find great waiters like this and the small chats multiply the already great experience. Will visit here again!đŸ‘đŸ»đŸ‘đŸ»đŸ‘đŸ»

ElÀmÀni paras ruokailukokemus tÀhÀn asti. Ruoka, viini ja palvelu kaikki 5/5. :) otettiin kumppanin kanssa 11.11 molemmat koko 5 ruokalajin menu ja oltiin todella yllÀttyneitÀ siitÀ miten hyvÀÀ ruoka oli: kaikki eri maut niin suolainen, kirpeÀ kuin makeakin olivat joka annoksessa tasapainossa tÀydellisesti ja pÀÀruokien kanssa suositellut viinit oli myös todella hyviÀ! Jos mitÀÀn yhtÀÀn huonompaa pitÀisi sanoa niin valkkari olisi voinut olla hitusen voimakkaamman makuista kun sen kanssa ollut vaalea kala oli tosi hyvÀÀ mutta makumaailmaltaan sellainen neutraalimpi, mutta tÀmÀ on vaan tÀysin henkilökohtainen huomio enkÀ mitÀÀn ruoista tiedÀ joten. :D Menun kulku oli myös jotenkin suunniteltu silleen ajatuksella ja tasapainoisesti ettÀ annokset ikÀÀn kuin sopivat tÀydellisesti omiin vÀlikköihinsÀ. Toki kokemus veloitti sen n. 170e mutta ei tuntunut yhtÀÀn pahalta maksaa vaan lÀhdettiin todella tyytyvÀisinÀ, tippiÀkin olis haluttu antaa. Ja ihmisenÀ joka on myös tosi nirso lihan suhteen niin ekaa kertaa tykkÀsin lihastakin todella paljon, taisi olla valkohÀntÀpeuraa ja oli kyllÀ niin herkullista. Erityisesti myös tarjoilijoiden asiantuntemus, lÀmpö ja palveluhenkisyys tekivÀt vaikutuksen, ei tuntunut niin kuin he olisivat siellÀ vain töissÀ vaan aivan kuin he olisivat kaikki isoa perhettÀ jotka suhtautuvat asiakkaisiin, ruokaan ja viineihin ÀÀrettömÀn intohimoisesti tavoitteenaan tarjota parasta mahdollista jokaiselle yksilöllisesti. Uskoisin tÀmÀn paikan olevan ihan kansainvÀlisellÀkin mittarilla mahtava ja myös ravintolan sisustus ja tunnelma oli sellainen kivan intiimi ja lÀmminhenkinen....

Aloitus oli hyvÀ mutta jÀtti vielÀ hieman toivomisen varaa, joskin suositeltu riesling toimi tÀmÀn kanssa erinomaisesti. Toisena alkuruokana tarjoiltu ankanmaksa ja karamellisoitu sipuli aiheutti vaimossa spontaanin naurunhelÀhdyksen, sillÀ maku oli yksinkertaisesti aivan taivaallinen. ItsellÀni oli vuorossa hÀrÀn rintaa lempeÀhkön pinot noihin kanssa, joka oli niin ikÀÀn erinomaista. PÀÀruoaksi tarjoiltiin vaimolle maitovasikan poskea sekÀ itselleni peuran fileetÀ. We had a wonderful meal. The service was friendly, attentive and informative. My wife particularly appreciated being able to get a couple options to taste when she was choosing wine to accompany her meal. Portion size was perfect for my wife but I would have enjoyed slightly more. The vitello tonnato was beautifully presented and was delicious. The dessert can only be described as a triumph! Looking forward to our next visit.
