If you did not know, Cay Tam is the one and only, original Vietnamese, pan Asian restaurant in Aix and been family run for nearly 5 decades. If you miss Korean style BBQ, Japanese Yakiniku, Hot Pot, Pho or Vermicelli noodle soup, Cha Gio (Nem)/Vietnamese Spring rolls and Summer rolls, this is the only place to visit if you want a change from French or western cuisines whilst in Aix.
The food was fresh and delicious. The bbq tables have their own fan/filter so good for extracting bbq smoke, probably good during pandemic times too, and you wont smell like a bbq afterwards.
I was impressed that the restaurant was very modern in decor, it was not like a typical Chinese or Asian restaurant, the ambience was very good, not noisy, tables weren't too close together, overall a very nice dining room and experience altogether.

Read moreWe visited this restaurant upon reading the reviews and were disappointed. The menu was extensive but none of rhe food was memorable. We started with the assorted platter and were surprised to see samosa on there. Don’t remember samosa ever being a Vietnamese food! Mains were the crispy noodles with veg and the chicken curry. Neither packed any real punch when it came to flavour. The curry was insipid and very watery. Most of all, the cleanliness of the restaurant was not great. We were seated near the entrance to the main restaurant and beside our table was a radiator. It was so caked with dirt and dust and the skirting board around it was the same. It didn’t make for a comfortable time and so we did not linger after our meal. A huge disappointment as we were all looking for a full on flavour experience in a clean restaurant. The reviews did not live up...
Read moreYou can eat traditional (where you are served the food) or you can eat BBQ style (where you order meat and cook it yourself). The food is delicious and the service is fantastic. The servers are really nice and polite. I had the chicken curry with rice and the entrée was spring rolls, salad and shrimp. For desert I recommend the exotic sorbet that had fresh mango on top. Amazing! Pricing is pretty fair for what your getting, especially because the entree is enormous and you really have to share it with someone or someones, even. Nice and calm atmosphere. I really recommend this place especially if you love...
