FAVELA - TERRACE, BAR & KITCHEN — Restaurant in Albertville

Indeed looks like a slum Favela; decoration is made out of cheap pallets and painted barrels. This would be great if the prices would fit with the concept; instead, you get to pay €8 for a dead and tasteless tap beer of unknown brand - Either hard or impossible to explain. Accompany this with the absolute worst music any bar could ever play, the stuff that annoys you in supermarkets, from Bruno Mars to Pharrell to Train to John Mayer. Basically, anything cheesy, annoying, milked and overplayed goes. I could literally not compose a more soulless and uninspiring playlist for a place where people should be having a good time if I tried my utter best.

What's more ; listing a bottle of Vodka for €925 ( !!! ) on your menu card is simply pretentious and elitist, it creates a culture that is favourable for no one and is, in my opinion, quite shallow and pathetic ( let's hope there's some rich kid that buys our idiotically priced Vodka, while we let it be served by 18 year old girls who are working their first bar shift ). I've not even seen such excessive pricings in clubs in Ibiza, and you call yourself a Favela, need I say more.. Apart from the Vodka, all of these prices would be slightly more understandable ( but still too high ) if it wasn't 13:00 in the afternoon, as most other bars up their prices for the evening/night shift, which is only logical. Adding one star because the staff was friendly, however slightly uninterested in their work, which I can only completely understand when you work at Favela. It's no justice because this place deserves 1 star but the staff does deserve 3. Nearly every other place in Val Thorens is absolutely great so it's nice and easy to avoid this one - make...

We came here on 21/12/23 as a group of 10. It was great that you could reserve a table online.

The service was good in general, though they kept coming to our table with food that was meant for a different table which became quite confusing. The tables, bench seating on the lower level were bolted to the ground which was frustrating as one side was too far away from the table and the other side was squashed with little space. The tables were really sticky too - i know it’s a bar at night, but it wasn’t pleasant. The glasses were also filthy, had to ask for clean ones.

We were really looking forward to the food, but this was a huge disappointment. The beef was bad quality and really chewy. The chicken burrito had hardly any chicken in it, and had no seasoning at all, no salt, pepper or any mexican type seasoning… The pork was terrible, it was like corned beef. This was unfortunately the theme with all dishes, not good quality and no taste. Wouldn’t recommend here for food.
