Winter Café — Restaurant in Albertville

What’s with all the positive reviews? Delivery took over 1.5 hours, when our appartment is only down the road. The burger was unbelievably disappointing, can’t believe I paid what I did, I’ve had better burgers (for a lot less) in remote towns of Indonesia. The chicken burger was very questionable; strange coloured meat, small portion, huge sandwich bun (not burger), with too much mayonnaise. I asked for salad and tomatoes to be removed, which were not. At least the delivery driver was nice (every cloud). Winter Café - I’m sure you make loads of money from drunk students, but please keep in mind that there are some people in VT with actual taste....

If it were possible to give no stars I would have, we ordered after reading all the amazing reviews but cannot understand how people have rated so highly.

We made an order of 3 chicken burgers and 2 beef burgers, the chicken burgers were suspect and substandard. The meat was grey/brown and very fatty, the patty was also tiny inside the oversized bun! The beef burgers however were ok, although the patties were definitely originally frozen.

The chips were ok and the selection of drinks great, the drinks arrived very cold which is the only saving grace.

Delivery man also very friendly, even if the order did take...

Having read the reviews of this place, we made it our first choice for dinner on our first night in Val Thorens. It’s only a small place and a lot smaller than I was expecting but the food was delicious. It seems to be very popular as a choice of delivered food. There are several signed up quad bikes parked outside and, once you know, you’ll see them out delivering throughout the night. Seating is all outside, on a small terrace.
