L'Abreuvoir — Restaurant in Albertville

One star is too generous! We arrived at the restaurant upon opening for lunch and drinks (10 people) and were left standing in the doorway for 5 minutes, without being greeted. The staff were extremely inattentive and rude, no one offered us a table or asked us what we needed. When we seated ourselves at a table we were told we couldn’t sit there as the table had been reserved, yet they still didn’t let us know where we were able to sit (the restaurant was empty, there were plenty of tables). The staff were completely unwelcoming and unhelpful. They clearly didn’t want our custom, so we had no choice...

I saw a few negative reviews regarding high prices and poor customer service….

Firstly, these are normal prices for meribel, it’s an expensive town as it’s seasonal and rents are high, so restaurants need to charge higher prices just to pay the rent. Secondly, the service was great, staff were friendly, responsive and accommodating. European hospitality is a different style compared to American, so enjoy and respect the French culture.

For the food, it was delicious! Super fresh ingredients and every dish was cooked perfectly...

At least ‘Dick Turpin wore a mask’! Not quite sure how the waiter had the face on him to ask for €7.50 for an Americano coffee. Apparently side milk(not an unusual request with an Americano surely) deemed an additional €4 on top of the coffee. Speechless! I had considered a family meal there but thats out the window.
