L'ALTI16 RESTAURANT PIZZERIA A MERIBEL1600 — Restaurant in Albertville

Not a good experience, a booking was made on our behalf for 9 people at 7pm we arrived at 7:15pm largely due to heavy rain which slowed us down as we had 3 small children and a toddler in a buggy. The main person stated that they had given out table away and that we were too late as they had the booking for 6:45. I question who books for 6:45? And who (what restaurant) accepts a booking for 6:45?? Not the norm if you ask me! Anyway we didn't receive a call on a mobile which in 2018 is not acceptable really it's easy to make a call and check as we were a big party and on our way. They managed to find some separate small tables for us so we all split up. The food was very slow to come especially for the kids who were left starving for nearly an hour with nothing until their grandmother complained. I ordered the burger and as with all the food it was overcooked and poorly/blandly seasoned. Then to top it off I found a long hair embedded in the burger. I sent it back and didn't request a replacement, I'd had enough at that stage. The beer/wine was ok and service apart from the long wait was ok. The waitress although friendly wasn't overly concerned about the hair in my dinner so I'd imagine this kind of thing happens fairly regularly. NO STARS!! The worst place to eat. We ordered 2 entrecôte and after 5 minutes we have been advised that they don’t have entrecôte and we had to change our order to port with beer. They brought us a pork steak without flavour together with some noodles with vegies which were awful. Also we ordered 2 pizzas (we were 4 persons) which were very very medium but had to est them because we were so hungry after all day of skiing.The waitress was very very rude and we were talking to her in English and she was replying back to us in French, claiming that she didn’t know English. When we returned the pork steak back however she came together with the “so called chef” and started speaking English fluently asking why we returned the steak. In no way don’t try this restaurant. Great hospitality by the restaurant, who give everyone a warm welcome, regardless of nationality. They were accommodating for a large group of 12 at short notice and the food in the ski resort delivered. So much so, a further visit was made a couple of days later and no one was disappointed on either occasion. All dishes very reasonably priced and the home brewed digestive was a perfect finish to the meal.
