Well, that was an absolute shambles. A pity, as were really looking forward to dinner here, given its high ratings.
We arrived and were led to our table by a friendly manager. The place was busy, but not overly - approx 1/3 of the tables were free and there were plenty of staff.
We then sat there…. for 5…. 10…. 15 minutes…. We tried to catch the eye of a member of staff, waved, etc… nothing. We eventually lost patience and had to go back to the front desk to inform the manager that not a single member of the waiting staff had acknowledged us.
The manger, very apologetic, came over and took our order.
We then sat there again for 5…. 10 minutes…. until we lost patience (again), toddled off to the front desk (again), to inform the manager that no drinks had arrived. The drinks then arrived immediately.
The food did arrive pretty quickly (5 minutes after the drinks). We had risotto, a salad and fries. We had to send the fries back because they were cold. The risotto was “claggy” and seemed like it had just been reheated. The fries, when finally warm, had now seemingly been reheated so many times they had reached the point that they “wicked” moisture from one’s mouth, the salad was ok. The complementary bread fell in to the same “wicking” category as the fries.
We obviously did not want desert - or to prolong our experience any longer.
On leaving, because of the delay, the manager knocked the price of the drinks off our bill. At this point, this place had already disrupted the enjoyment of our evening enough and we were way beyond explaining our dissatisfaction with the food. We just wanted to get...
Read moreWe dined at La rotisserie on a number of occasions and also at Le Zinc. Whilst the serving staff were polite and tried hard we think that these restaurants are letting your hotel down. They are well below expectation in terms of choice and quality of food served. You only have to go down to try the competition at the Fitzroy Hotel, Pashmina or Le Val Thoren hotel (Beaumier Group), as we did on this trip, to see a remarkable difference. It is noted that these hotels offer half-board, which seems to be an indication of a greater emphasis on the quality of the dinners. You are miles away from their quality to be frank. I have also stayed at Posta Zirm in Corvara, NeuHintertux Hotel in Hintertux and Hotel Berg in Lech (Austria) and the ½ board dinner menu in all of those hotels is absolutely superb. They serve a number of tasteful courses, different every night, as well as buffets featuring the most fantastic salads and desserts. This is the part of your hotel which is...
Read moreThe food was mediocre , not what we had expected at all . The calamari starter to share was a large portion but still had quite a lot of sinew which had not been removed. The accompanying mayo was not very tasty . My chicken main was fine but again the sauce was not very tasty and the roasted potatoes were soggy . The burger my husband had was ok but the chips were greasy and soft so not pleasant. The next table to us walked out and refused to pay their bill complaining their pizza was soggy . Overall, unfortunately this was an underwhelming experience and very overpriced for very average food therefore whilst we were initially considering eating there more than once , we have now made other plans for the remainder...
