Here is the list of the things I was disappointed with: yahoo mail doesn't work on a laptop you can't upload anything to the web - it is just not possible (security reasons maybe?) internet connection is very slow TV was disconnecting once a day after fixing TV for the first time I got 13 channels instead of 60 we were not able to sit at the balcony because the snow on the balcony above was melting and drops were falling down to ours the pillows are small (50х50, I guess), very cheap and uncomfortable, the filling is made of some balls, and the pillowcases are not sitting tight, so every morning when you wake up, you find your pillow out of the pillowcase. faucet doesnt match the sink in bathrooms, when you wash your hands, you feel like it was built for hands at least 3 times smaller, otherwise there is no reason for placing the faucet SO close to the sink (you can hardly wash your hands without constantly touching the sink or the faucet) you can hang 2, maximum 3 towels on the towel heater, and there is NO other racks or hooks for other staff like your travel toiletries bag, bathrobe or anything else rooms in the apartment are so tiny that you can either have a baby bed in your room or open your closet to get your things out. Having both is literally not possible. saying that, the closet is also extremely small with lack of hangers walls between rooms are made from carton - you can hear every word said in a quiet voice behind the wall not to mention that the room with two-level bed is the next to the living room, it is supposed to be childrens room, and you can't turn on the TV in the living room in the evenings because children hear it better than you do towel heater in the bathroom is either 24 degrees or Max, which means it is hot as hell sauna door in the Spa is not closing tight, which means that it is hardly possible to get it warmer than 80 people from hotel can use residence facilities including sauna and pool (and they always do, although they have their own), and residence guests can't use hotel facilities ski-room for residence guests is situated on the zero floor across the slope entrance, which is on the 1 floor, and you have to walk the stairs in your boots and open all doors (at least 3) with your hands full of ski equipment if you live in the residence and want to have breakfast, you have to cook it at home or go out. It is not possible to have it in the hotel restaurant, even if you are ready to pay for it. food in the Diamant restaurant is not worth trying. Too salty, not tasty. Other restaurants in the hotel are good. overall experience - the residence is WAY OVERPRICED. I guess the hotel is better and might deserve its 5, but i wouldn't rate residence more than 3.
The staff was helpful though. The interior design of the apartments is contemporary and stylish. Slope access is good. Ski equipment for rent is very new and of excellent quality. Ski locker is spacious.
It is not very bad, but I would get more for less in other apartments, and of course I expected more 5*...
Read moreUnfortunately I can also only confirm the internet problem - in a residence of that class you would expect a lot of people who NEED the internet - and they NEED websites to open - I felt propelled back to the 90s where websites opened that slow (or never)...nowadays websites are build with more pics - so more bandwith needed - I would not even mind having a speed up option and pay 100 Euros for it (considering the price of 2500 Euro for a mid class apartment that is really not the big argument - but getting 0.5mbps with todays demand on websites is absolutely NOT sufficient. (2mbps was standard 15 years ago - today its more like 10-16mbps or even more). And if you can afford such a residence you most likely either have kids who need internet bandwidth on bad days or even worse have a business to attend to sometimes - and then it is horrible to not have better connection - as it costs all your roaming minutes on your iphone instead. And on a bad day, there is no way to go to netflix, as it would never work. Rooms are modern and clean, a bit on the small side - TV is also very slow on the menus and does only very partially work - very bad for bad weather days. Wellness is Ok (Sauna, Swiming pool) - people are very friendly and nice - no doubt. Shuttle service to village is a plus. Bakery service in the morning is great...but I have gotten much better tasting baguete and flutes and crossaints in most bakeries than the one choosen (here I would really change). So: main points of criticism: Technical equipment not up to a 5 star standard and the most important argument: bakery items (in France you do expect better). We stayed already twice. It is one of the best - no doubt. But there is room to live up to a brand new 5 star residence - even on the residence side of the building. (and it would not even cost much to...
Read moreWell for a 5 star hotel & apartments you would think they would have top of the line quality build and Wind & snow not coming in through the windows. Doors that open and close correctly. Kitchen cabinets that fit and an internet that is faster than 0,65mbs download and 0.46mbs upload! Even the high speed for €59 is only 0,97mbs download & 0,23mbs upload!!! (But we got for free & free movies on demand) And not to mention the swimming pool pump on all night so you can't get a good night sleep if you're on the 3rd floor above the swimming pool. (Swimming pool & spa on the 2nd floor) Don't get me wrong it looks very nice and cozy and the people are very nice and friendly as well but they just threw this place up and didn't think about the quality of the work that went into building it! I can't say too much for the hotel side because we're in the apartment side of the building! 5 stars it is NOT! 3.5-4 stars? ...
