Insanely good dinner tonight in Albi. Michelin-rated restaurant, Amapola. Good grief Michelin, it deserves ONE STAR minimum!!!! Adventurous, creative, fusion food from a wife and husband team. WOW, we were blown away. I can definite see myself traveling here every three months for their new menu. We had half of it today, coming back Friday for the other half. Have I made it clear we LOVED IT? Thanks to Anita and the Amapola Team for a very memorable meal!!! The concept is fusion tapas with French, Latin American and Spanish influences and all dishes are meant to be shared. We had 8 different dishes to share; Udon noodles in a lemon butter, pan con tomate, tempura veggies that were like biting into air, an insane scallop carpaccio, an insane shrimp roll that we scarfed down and forgot to photograph, 3 insane deserts including a blue cheese flan with salted caramel. It blew my mind!! We got two more Michelin places to go on this trip but Amapola will be impossible to top. It was phenomenal.

Nous avons réservé une table pour 6 un soir en semaine. ➖ - Le restaurant est très très petit à l'intérieur donc pour les familles avec leur bébé en poussette il faudra trouver une alternative... Effectivement je n'ai pas précisé que je venais avec mon bébé au téléphone mais c'est la première fois qu'on me demande de préciser cela. - De plus, Il n'est indiqué nulle part qu'il y a une terrasse dommage ! - Peu de choix sur la carte en salé et sucré (par contre un choix immense en boissons...) - Prix un peu élevé pour la quantité dans l'assiette (malgré l'explication de la serveuse : "plus grande qu'une entrée et plus petit qu'un plat") - nous ressortons en ayant encore faim - emplacement très bruyant attention - restaurant n'accepte pas les tickets restaurant ➕ - restaurant intimiste avec 2 personnes en cuisine et 2 personnes pour le service. Service rapide avec le sourire - Pour le repas, assaisonnement rien à dire ainsi que l'association des ingrédients ! La cuisine est bonne et les produits sont locaux + bio ! 👍🏼 Bonne découverte des boissons : FEFE. - Joli décoration intérieure simple et efficace - emplacement sympathique car proche du pont vieux et du centre historique ➡️ Mais au final, mon avis est tout de même mitigé. Pas sûre de revenir.

Where is the option for 6 stars??? Wow this place has it all. We were 30 min away and had to race to get here in time but my oh my was it worth it! The food is a surprise to the senses with each dish surpassing the previous, the menu is all to share, just like we love it. The service is friendly, professional and great to talk to. Finally, the interior design is just gorgeous. Don’t miss this spot if you can ♥️

Just perfect. Everything you want in a restaurant - outstanding service, a thoughtful menu, lovely friendly atmosphere and absolutely exquisite food. A tiny neighbourhood hidden gem, tucked away and as good as it gets. We love sharing small plates (I am vegetarian and my husband eats everything) and there were so many choices for us both - I wish we could have tried everything on the menu but the highlights were the burrata (never had anything like it), the polenta chips (oh thaaaat's what polenta is supposed to be) and the extraordinary wasabi, cucumber and strawberry pavlova. Exceptional food and exceptional people. This is where I bring family and friends who visit the region. This is why we go out to eat, for an experience, an adventure, a moment where time stops because the food is just so damn good. This is the kind of place where even every sauce is super balanced and interesting, you just have to soak up every drop. It's my favorite place to eat out in case you couldn't tell by now.
