Visited Le Quai on our first night in Amiens after driving in from Cologne. We were greeted warmly but quickly brought upstairs to a corner table in the very back of the restaurant - when there were other available tables closer to more desirable areas. If this was due to reservations or not I’m not sure, but it was as far away from the servers as seemingly possible.
Food was great, but we had originally asked for a bottle of water and never received it despite asking three separate times for it.
Our server didn’t even bother to check on us throughout the entire meal unless we asked him over, one time to which he responded by waving his hand and muttering something under his breath. Can’t say I would recommend the restaurant to other tourists visiting from abroad as the service was the worst we’ve received in our two weeks of travelling so far. Maybe as Canadians we’re just used to better and...
Read moreI suspect that some waitstaff at this restaurant exhibit serious racial discrimination. If you are not white-skinned and not fluent in French, I strongly advise against coming here. Throughout the entire evening, none of our finished plates were cleared away. Regarding their service attitude, especially the blond male waiter, he would often glance at us with a malicious smile after interacting with us and walking back to the front desk. If it had happened once, I might have let it go, but it happened multiple times. I tried looking back at him, but he did not stop. I don’t know what he was laughing at, but it made me very uncomfortable. If you’re not a French-speaking white person, I recommend staying away. This has been the worst experience of my...
Read moreI had the tasty, very tender pigs cheeks. My partner had the beef with mushrooms and fries. Mine was good. Hers was better. There's a decent wine, aperitif, cocktails and other drinks selection. The service was friendly and prompt. It is by the water, and I think I'd like to come back in warmer weather as there are many restaurants by the water and I think it would be a lively place. The bread was good, and the table snack of a bit of popcorn was an interesting, appreciated addition. I hardly ever give 5 stars, and I was tempted this time. I'd give it 4.5, if there were half stars. I'll definitely come back when we are in...
