Our stay at the hotel started very well with the super friendly and kind women at the reception when we arrived. She explained everything in detail and gave tips on what to see and do. After she walked us to the room, we just stored our luggage and went out to see the city.

From here it started to become an unpleasant stay. When we came back and wanted to get ready for the evening, we realized the bed linen and sheets had stains on them. They were not visible in the beginning as they were under the blanket and on the other side of the pillow. In addition, in the bathroom we found a toothbrush and used shampoo bottles from the person staying in the room before us. When we went to the reception to raise this, we found the doors closed and no one there at ten to 8 p.m. Also when we called no one picked up. So we had no other choice than to sleep in the stained sheets.

Next morning we got up early ready to continue our journey. At the reception, this time a man, greeted us. During the check out we mentioned that the sheets were stained and we found the toothbrush and shampoo bottles. His face changed immediately and he became quite defensive mentioning he would not understand what we are saying. Only when we showed the pictures we took, he had no other choice but to understand. He became very unfriendly treating us as we had done something wrong, even giving us a condescending laugh for taking pictures. He then started typing something into the computer and ignored us. We waited for roughly 2 minutes expecting something, however, as he kept ignoring us, we turned around, wished a nice day and left. As we left we could hear him yelling, probably at the staff. While we are not sure if he was angry at us for finding the stains and toothbrush or at the staff for not properly cleaning the room. However, he let us feel as if we did something wrong and although we did not expect any compensation, we would have wished for a proper apology, something we did not get.

An unfortunate end to a stay that started so nice. We give only 1 point, just for the friendly women who welcomed us so nicely and for...

I cannot believe the reviews I have read for this pitiful excuse of a "hotel". Our room is in the attic reached by uneven narrow stairs resplendant with threadbare carpet from circa 1979. To reach the bathroom you have to circumnavigate the bed whilst ducking to avoid the sloping ceiling. The bath - with shower attachment, no less - has a plug which is immobile and attempting to use the shower attachment involves a high degree of skill and a little contortionism due to the severely limited room height within the eaves. Thibault, however, is very friendly and helpful and the location is excellent. If you an energetic dwarf with low standards, this is the place for you. Otherwise avoid it and get a little more for you €100+ per night!!

Interesting response! We did not avoid anyone and I paid the bill myself the night before leaving at 7am! I assumed the reason for giving us the boxroom in the attic was that you were full - either that or all of the rooms were equally poor. Either way, no point complaining! We were really happy with your service levels and friendliness and I also commented on that. The fact is that the room you are offering is sub-standard. Address that. Your sensitivity to me stating a clear fact is that of a 5 year old child - oh,...

Loved this quaint little hotel. Full of charm and character. Decorated with modern French minimalism mixed with the elegant and rustic beams of a 17 century building. We had room number four, with a large picture window with the view of the top of the stunning cathedral. It felt like a looking at a painting. I also enjoyed the huge soaking tub in the bathroom. Perfect hotel for us and we really liked it. Short walk from the train station. I would say, if you can’t carry your luggage up a couple of flights of stairs, or can’t get into a tub shower. That might not be the room for you. We found this hotel to be an excellent value with very friendly and helpful staff.

First of all, I suggest the staff in this hotel when I checked in on 30th Nov 2018. She was so hospitalized to help carrying my heavy luggage. I was so appreciated. Not to mentioned, she explained the locations which are worth visiting in Amien. When checking out, staff was also friendly in helping to keep the luggage for us. Don't miss this hotel with the perfect view from room. Make sure you book the right room. By the way, 1 minute walking from the hotel to the cathedral, you don't have anything to complain about.
