Snack'in — Restaurant in Amiens

The beef burgers and veggie burgers are delicious here. They do very nice roast potatoes rather than fries. We had the tastiest burgers, croque monsieur, cakes, cookies and apple crumble. We just didn't want to stop ordering from the fantastic menu. Regardless of the fact that the restaurant is 100% gluten free the food is delicious including things like croque monsieur which usually a celiac can only dream about. Four of my family are celiac. We found the restaurant by accident while exploring Amiens on 20Jul2023. It is located directly across the square from the cathedral. It just couldn't have a more central location in Amiens. The restaurant is really 100% gluten free and is the only 100% gluten free, celiac friendly restaurant that we have managed to find in all of Haut de France. There is no gluten whatsoever in the restaurant. It is so rare for celiacs to be able to eat with no fear of cross contamination whatsoever and you can safely eat here. Typically one of the four of the celiacs in the family will suffer from gluten contamination when we eat out in France. But none of us suffered in any way after eating at Snack'in. We are already looking forward to getting back to Amiens next year to try everything else that's on the menu. I 100% recommend this restaurant for celiacs and non celiacs. Lunchtime arrives and we're in Amiens a town we know nothing about on a cool wintery day, whilst walking back from the Cathedral we looked at this café as the solution to our lunchtime needs. We didn’t want a menu of the day as that would have been too much food. That their food is all made in house was the clincher for us so in we went.

We were shown to our table by a very cheery and kind person who made us instantly welcome, the place was simple but comfortable and warm. We ordered black tea and cold milk, the soup of the day, butternut squash and coconut soup, and I had a warm salad; tomatoes, feta and potatoes. The tea was delicious, we English are very precise about our tea and often in France we're sadly given a cup of lukewarm water and a liptons yellow label sachet, let me assure you this is a treasonable offence where we're from!

Our food arrived by which time the cafe was full and busy, it retained its relaxing ambience thanks in no part to the person that greeted us and who was working so hard to keep everything moving smoothly whilst maintaining their wonderful demeanour, no mean feat in itself.

The food was delicious, it was exactly what we needed.

By sheer luck and no judgement we found a really special café absolutely ideal in every way and one I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or return to. This isn't fancy food its just simple fare you want to eat made with real heart and in a really welcoming environment. You couldn't ask for more. Thankyou

L'heure du déjeuner arrive et nous sommes à Amiens, une ville dont nous ne connaissons rien par une fraîche journée d'hiver, en revenant de la cathédrale, nous avons considéré ce café comme la solution à nos besoins du déjeuner. Nous ne voulions pas de menu du jour car cela aurait été trop de nourriture. Le fait que leur nourriture soit entièrement préparée sur place était l'élément décisif pour nous, alors nous y sommes allés. Nous avons été conduits à notre table par une personne très joyeuse et gentille qui nous a immédiatement accueillis, l'endroit était simple mais confortable et chaleureux. Nous avons commandé du thé noir et du lait froid, la soupe du jour, une soupe à la courge musquée et à la noix de coco, et j'ai eu une salade tiède ; tomates, feta et pommes de terre. Le thé était délicieux, nous les Anglais sommes très précis sur notre thé et souvent en France on nous donne malheureusement une tasse d'eau tiède et un sachet liptons étiquette jaune, je vous assure que c'est un délit de trahison chez nous ! Notre nourriture est arrivée à ce moment-là, le café était plein et occupé, il a conservé son ambiance relaxante, en partie grâce à la personne qui nous a accueillis et qui travaillait si dur pour que tout se passe bien tout en conservant son attitude merveilleuse, ce qui n'est pas une mince affaire en soi. . La nourriture était délicieuse, c'était exactement ce dont nous avions besoin. Par pure chance et sans jugement, nous avons trouvé un café vraiment spécial, absolument idéal à tous points de vue et que je n'hésiterais pas à recommander ou à retourner. A brilliant place that caters for a gluten free diet in a part of the country that proved difficult for a celiac. The service was great and the food options were plentiful.

There were plenty of cakes on offer that were labelled well, if they contained eggs/dairy or vegan. The (vegan) brookie was so delicious that I bought two to take home.
