A Little Bit of Everything Asian — but Not Quite Authentic
Stepping into this restaurant, you might expect a clear culinary direction — perhaps Japanese, given the decor and name. But once the menu arrives, it quickly becomes clear: this is not a focused Japanese experience, but rather a mélange of pan-Asian inspirations, from Vietnam to Thailand, with some sushi thrown in for good measure.
The food itself was… okay. The fish in the sushi was fresh, but the cuts were imprecise, and the use of iceberg lettuce in a maki raised eyebrows — not exactly textbook. Still, the flavors were pleasant, and ingredients tasted fresh.
Authenticity clearly wasn’t the priority here, and that’s fine — as long as you know what to expect. It feels like a place shaped by what "Asian food" looks like to a small-town French audience, rather than what it truly is. A bit of Vietnam here, a dash of Japan there, a Thai dish thrown in for color — and voilà.
Was it bad? Not at all. Was it great? Not really.
The service was warm and friendly, and the decor shows effort and a concept. It could be a great spot for local teens or newcomers to Asian cuisine to dip their toes into the flavors of the East — just don’t come looking for...
Read moreFood was very good according to my boyfriend. Unfortunately, I can only give two stars because I didn't get the chance to try it. First the waiter who was more interested in talking to his friends or smoking got my order wrong (yes, I spoke English but I pointed on the menu on the specific Maki I wanted to order and after asking for sushi without fish every good and observant waiter could imagine I did not want to order anything with fish). Then it took forever to receive the right order and since my boyfriend was already finished a long time ago we canceled mine and left. Others received their food meanwhile. After bringing the wrong order the right one should definitely be prioritized! Sorry, with the right staff this restaurant could be probably really great. After all I went to a really super restaurant next door with...
