In 2004, we did not have Google reviews, and I sit here in my little cubicle in Iowa, I thought it would be nice to leave a little feedback to a pub that made so many great memories for me. Everything is excellent from the food to the beer. I had the chance, over the course of my 3 month stay in Annecy, to get to know the staff fairly well. The owners are amazing, a great mix of young and old. A great father and son duo! The chef at the time was great, and though he spoke little english, we communicated just fine. James and I threw him in the canal at the end of the summer. He took it well. The manager, James was originally from Texas, so he was amazing and helped me pick out some really fine cuisine. This is the type of place that should be able to satisfy any customer. If it so happens anyone from the Captain Pub reads this, my name is Blake Anderson and I loved every minute I was...

We visited this bar three times before writing a review, hoping our first impression might’ve just been an off day for the staff. Unfortunately, the same pattern of poor service continued each time.

The location and drink selection are easily 5 stars, top-notch. But the service consistently fell short, which was disappointing. Maybe it was because we’re American or simply due to the staffs nasty attitudes.

We hope the team takes this feedback to heart. A little kindness goes a long way, and with hospitality as a front-facing industry, leading with kindness can make all...

Rude staff Expensive Had two pints of Guinness 1 alcohol free larger 1 X craft beer Handed over 50 euros and given we'd been to many other bars and hotels, expected some change. Asked one of the dancing barmen for the change and he said yeah OK then disappeared He then came back and I asked him again to which he said no change. I then quizzed him on cost and he threw plastic list of drinks on the bar. I couldn't even see Guinness on the list, pointed this out but no joy. I said 50 euros for 4 drinks His response was Welcome to...

What a great pub! After walking around Annecy and looking at the menus of various restaurants, we settled for Captain Pub. We were extremely satisfied with the meal as well as the excellent service. I actually thought that the food was much better compared to the meals other “fancier” restaurants had to offer. We had a Cheese burger and Caesar salad, red wine for drinks and an amazingly delicious Chocolate fondant for dessert. The portions were big and of high quality. I would highly recommend them.

I loved the design of this place, set in a rustic old ship that gives it a unique and charming atmosphere. We had a burger, salad, stew, and desserts, all of which were delicious. The staff were kind and friendly, though it took a little while for the food to arrive. One highlight you must try is the flaming crème brûlée — the waiter prepares and torches it right at your table, which makes the experience fun and memorable.

Definitely the best pub out of all the pubs in Annecy! Great selection of beers, especially the beer cokctails are awesome. Sometimes they play too much Rammstein, but it's fine! The bad thing is that you get kicked out from one part of the bar to another at 2am every day. Closes at almost 3am, but not quite!
