Le Pékin北京酒家 — Restaurant in Annecy

The most terrible restaurant I have visited in Europe, the food was okay but the service was extremely unacceptable.

The waitress (french & mandarin speaking) was very rude to our table for no reason while seeing that she's happily engaging with other guests.

Pushing us to order without explaining the last order time

She came twice while we're taking our time to decide what to order. Only 10 minutes past, she came for the 2nd time and insisted us should quickly order.

Being rude when i accidentally flipped the menu

She said don't ruin my menu when seeing that I fold the menu unintentionally. She could have told us please read with both pages as we are here to eat, not to destroy your menus, please stay calm and be professional to your guests.

Only told us we need to finish now when it's already the time to close

The same lady came to us and told us rudely that please finish your meal as we will close now. In fact, we ordered 4 dishes and there's still some remaining food to finish. She came with a poker face and spoke in a tone as if we stayed for ages.

Please respect your guests and again be professional. You should have told us at least 15 minutes beforehand so that we can be prepared.

I don't know if this is a matter of issues that we don't speak French, or the fact that we came with luggages (while the restaurant was quite empty), the lady smiled and talked happily with other guests while being extremely rude to us really turned us down. It's such a bad memory in Annecy.

Waited almost 2 hrs, waitress said food is being made right now because "its the same dish as this other table" that shes serving right now, but its not. Reading the reviews I kept a balanced expectations at the start however once you get into there and order your food. You can understand it will take a bit of time to get your food. It’s a small and family owned Chinese (not Chinese-French) restaurant. The food was actually good (home made), moderately priced also and we enjoyed the service. Hard working and hospitable lady.
