Kava — Restaurant in Annecy

My friend and I went here because I was intrigued it had a 5.0 with this many reviews. It is really that good. Atmosphere: The vibes, the wall of wine, we could pick what we wanted from there and prices were listed, it all felt so fancy while also cozy not stuffy! They use beautiful delicate china, like serving tea. Service: Here’s what distinguishes this place - the owner gave us the kindest service I’ve had in awhile. When we asked for wine recommendations, he poured us 3 options and told us the prices and even then still helped us choose. He never had any airs or any impatience. Food: Loved they put the menu boards literally in front of us, felt so personal. The chef is also the owner, they’re both married! We had the Lyonnaise salad, escargot (delicious), eggplant dish with burrata like cheese I forget the name of now, the special ham, and dessert. To top it off, they use an olive oil for dipping that just won best olive oil in the world and you can purchase it for a reasonable price given this. After 3 glasses of wine, 4 dishes, and dessert, we spent 40 euros/person. They even put a little name card with my name on it and wrote our order on a paper doily, so I now have a physical memory to take home. Every detail of this place has been thought out - one of my favorite dining experiences of any place on this planet ever, let alone the best in Annecy. I discovered this restaurant because I was specifically looking for something authentic and away from touristy spots. I came across it on Google Maps and was encouraged by the great reviews — and I’m so glad I trusted them.

When we arrived, we weren’t in the mood to try too many things, so we decided to share four tapas — and each one was a delight. Creative, balanced, fun, and full of flavour. Even as an Italian, I can say I had one of the best stracciatella I’ve ever tasted.

From start to finish, everything was beautifully thought out, including the dessert, which was equally refined and balanced. You could truly sense the attention to detail — it felt almost like a work of art.

And the service? Just as thoughtful. The owner and his wife are incredibly kind and welcoming, and you can really tell how much passion they put into their work.

We dined here on a Thursday evening in August, and it was such a wonderful experience. The design is very romantic and cozy, with candlelight and a touch of antique décor. The food was amazing—each dish was unique, delicious, and made with the finest ingredients.

The highlight, though, was our waiter: kind, friendly, and very knowledgeable. He explained the dishes clearly and helped us navigate the extensive wine list, pairing us with the perfect selections that matched exactly what we were looking for.
