Food was nice (not exceptionally but good at its price point), except dessert where the creme brulee basically tasted of nothing and the glaze wasn’t crisped (ie it was very grainy). The Service was terrible hence the 1 star, the waiters made us feel rushed and unwelcome. Our food (the creme brulee) was taken from the table half eaten and before we could stop the waiter (he literally ran off with it), the waiter didn’t ask us should he take it or if there was anything wrong with it. the ordering process was rushed also, we literally just sat down and were asked for wine and food orders. The bill arrived unprompted moments later, we still had 1/3 bottle of wine and half full glasses, I wanted to order another water but I decided not to give the restaurant anymore business at this stage, we booked & “had the table” until 9 and this was about 8.10. Moments later and again unprompted, a waiter arrived with the card machine and we asked him for a few more minutes to finish our wine, he left in a huff. The whole atmosphere in the restaurant felt rushed and unpleasant, waiters were literally running around the restaurant, on the way back from the restroom I was almost knocked into one as he cut me off on one of his runs from the kitchen. as I said very unpleasant atmosphere and staff were extremely rude in their service. it’s not an expensive restaurant, not cheap either, but manners doesn’t cost anything. I would say avoid if you want a relaxed evening in this lovely village, we went to other restaurants in the village which were great, book in...
Read moreBe sure to get a reservation, this place gets busy. We were greeted and welcomed cordially. Our table was right on the edge of the patio which was a great view, but the constant passing of cars was a little bothersome at times. Otherwise the ambiance was great. We started with the roasted zucchini and broccoletti, which were not bad by any means, but quite small for 9 eur. The zucchini was described as "mint, garlic, and vinegar", none of which were very present in the final flavors of the dish. Still a decently flavored bit of veg though. For mains we went with the amatriciana and a pizza who's name escapes me. The crust here was the best I've had in France so far, and I liked that they weren't afraid to let it char a bit. Most places have really pale crusts so it's worth mentioning. Pasta had decent flavor, but nothing to write home about. Desserts were also typical, maybe slightly above average. The candied orange cannolo had good texture, but the oranges were very sour. The tiramisu was pretty good! Overall, the pizza was the star of the show, starters a little too expensive, and desserts are...
Read moreThis is a lifetime memory meal. It’s been over a week now and all 12 of us are still talking about it. Unbelievably good food. We might make another trip to Gordes someday just to return to this restaurant. The service was a bit lacking since our first server abandoned us, but the food was so outstanding that we didn’t care. My boyfriend is a harsh spaghetti carbonara critic as it’s his favorite dish, and he said “Mezzemaniche Alla Gricia Comme À Rome” was the best he’d ever had in his life. My parents split the Orecchiette Pesto Rosso and the Gnocchi Di Patate Al Tartufo. They enjoyed both, but said the Orecchiette Pesto Rosso was far superior. My sister got the Bufalina pizza, which she also said was exceptional. The Caprese Di Burrata and focaccia with the olive oil and balsamic was amazing. I dipped my Mammargherita pizza in it! And if you forgot to snap a pic of the brand, I’ve included one below! :) Estoublon Huile d’Olive...
