Disappointing and Unwelcoming Experience

We recently visited this restaurant, drawn in by the lovely terrace, but our experience was anything but pleasant. From the start, we felt completely ignored when we asked for a table for two. The staff member didn’t acknowledge us at all and only seated us after an uncomfortably long wait.

When he finally came to take our order, we asked for menus, only to be told, "We don’t have a menu," followed by a blank stare. No further explanation or assistance was offered, leaving us feeling confused and uncomfortable. When we inquired about the wine options, his rude response was, "Depends on which colour," delivered with a tone that felt dismissive and frankly, a bit racist.

It’s a real shame, as the location and terrace are beautiful, but the staff's attitude made the entire experience unpleasant. Management needs to train their staff to be more welcoming and professional, especially toward guests who might not look like them. We won’t...

Where can you get a decent coffee and a croissant mid-morning in Gordes? Nowhere but here, it seems. What is happening to France? Time was when even the smallest of villages boasted a place where you could get decent coffee and pastries anytime. Not any more. Gordes is "foodie" with Michelin starred restaurants and loads of tourists wanting lunch. So even modest bars have outside tables laid for lunch by 10.30. Thank God for Le Cercle. Good coffee and fresh croissants with a friendly proprietor behind the counter. Locals linger there playing cards or pool. Yeah the view is absolutely great. But I won't recommend this cafe. Forst of all, I was charged "supplement carte" 0.2€/person for no reason. And even though I sit inside, I still need to pay "supplement terrasse TVA". At the end I paid 5.7€ for a coffee and a hot chocolate.
