We waited 20 minutes just to order. At least we had been given some water right after sitting down, which is why we did not just get up and go. 5 minutes after we ordered the drinks, the waiter came back and asked us again what we wanted because he forgot. The starter was ok, but the tuna tartar we ordered as a main was inedible. We both ate one fork and sent it back because the tuna was off. The waiter agreed with us and apologized sincerely. He told us that we would not have to pay anything at all. We told him that we would happily pay for the drinks and the starter that we ate, but he insisted. Shortly after, a girl came to our table and informed us in an extremely rude manner that she considered the tuna fine and other people had eaten it earlier in the day and we would have to pay for it, even if we did not eat it. No apology whatsoever. If it was fine earlier, they must have a refrigeration or kitchen hygiene issue. She offered us ONE drink, not even one each. The waiter who had agreed with us that the tuna was bad and told us we did not have to pay said she was his boss and there was nothing he could do. We then had to wait another 15 minutes for the bill. This really was the worst restaurant experience...
Read moreNormally I only write a review when I have something good to say. But I have to get this off my chest today. We would have loved to eat here. The food all looked delicious and it smelled good. Unfortunately, we made the mistake of sitting at an empty table. (And yes, there was old crockery there too.) We were then insulted by the waiter (the owner?) and he told us that we had no culture because we had just sat down like that. I explained to him that in restaurants where this is done, there is a sign saying that you should wait here until you are brought to a table. So we were sent away, even though more tables had become free in the meantime. As we left, he grinned smugly in my face and made a familiar gesture with his hand, whereupon I said something not very nice to his face, which he in turn commented on with something very unpleasant. Yes, there is a great culture in France. But unfortunately not in this institution. I would advise him to do some travelling instead of staying in his city. Perhaps that will broaden his cultural horizons. His behaviour has already been criticised in other reviews. Unfortunately, this was confirmed once again today. We then ate very well elsewhere and were served in a...
Read moreThis place is absolutely fantastic. Twelve of us showed up, one person in a wheelchair, on a busy lunchtime. They were so friendly and immediately made space for us by pushing lots of tables together. None of us spoke French well enough, so the lovely waiter Rod took the time to translate the whole menu into English for us (he was also speaking Spanish to another table!) We had mostly seafood and steak and it was absolutely delicious and so reasonably priced. They also made an amazing salad for my vegan friend....
