L'Affenage — Restaurant in Arles

The restaurant is too busy and obviously lack of enough hands!

First, the waitress served us with main course first and forgot the starter! We have to remind the waitress! Then the waitress forgot to serve us the dessert! We paid the bill but realized we haven’t get the dessert! Reminded the waitress then only she served!

We ordered two fishes for main course, one is not cook well!! Too bad was the half cook fish was eaten by my 8 years old daughter! She couldn’t differentiate the fish was not well cook! She complaint to us that it was very smelly! My husband tasted it and found out middle of the fish was still raw!! Complaint to the waitress who took our orders (whose was busy cooking the beef on the charcoal after more customers orders the steaks) and she argued with us the fish supposed to be cooked half well!! Even if we explained to her another fish was done properly! 🙄🙄 she might thought this is sashimi!

The taste of other foods are good! But obviously our mood have spoilt by their busy and carelessly service.

Overall this was the worst dining experience for us in France for...

Food is delicious and in very generous portions. Entrées are big, so careful ordering more than one each. If you order the mixed ones to share for 2, you'll get enough for 4 and there'll be little room for mains. Dessert was also big and we really should've shared. If you prefer a more quiet dinner don't get a table close to the grill. The waiters prep the plates to be sent downstairs to be washed there and it's very noisy as they throw (with quite some force) the cutlery into a plastic container. The service seemed a bit rough compared to what we'd experienced in other places in Arles... Perhaps heavily influenced by watching them angrily throw cutlery into a plastic box all night since we were sitting very close to their dumbwaiter or...

Malgré de nombreux repas pris dans ce restaurant nous avons été choqué de la manière de service d’une jeune serveuse manifestement jeune dans le métier car aucun savoir être et savoir faire. Dommage car niveau cuisine rien a redire d’autant plus que les autres personnels sont forts sympathique (un jeune serveur et une dame en salle très agréable à chaque fois que nous sommes venus). C’est au moment de l’addition où nous avons été choqué par la manière de parler de la plus jeune des serveuses en effet celle ci viens nous encaisser tout en poursuivant sa conversation téléphonique personnelle, bien entendu. Sans même un mot elle nous donne l’addition. Nous lui faisons remarquer qu’il y a un soucis sur celle ci et nous sort une addition plus chère avec le petit commentaire qui va bien « des fois il vaut mieux ne pas ouvrir sa bouche ». Nous cherchons donc à comprendre pourquoi cette addition, et la celle ci nous dit alors que si ça ne nous convient pas elle peut compter l’ensemble des plats à la carte et que cela nous reviendra encore plus chère. Bref un personnage qui dénote dans ce restaurant plutôt chaleureux et où on mange vraiment bien. A prendre en compte car cette jeune fille se croit tout permis et se permet de parler aux clients d’une manière inacceptable (nous ne sommes pas les seuls à être choqué de son comportement). Pour finir sur une note positive: le jeune homme est vraiment au top et connaît son métier, elle pourrait facilement s’en inspirer mais visiblement elle préfère prendre le...
