Café La Chablisienne — Restaurant in Auxerre

Friendly staff and other customers. They didn't mess about, understood what we wanted (we only speak English), gave us what we asked for and the other customers were accommodating of my wheelchair. We had a nice chat with someone about their dog and generally enjoyed ourselves.

Would happily recommend.

Access is a little tricky in a wheelchair. The curbs in Chablis are very high, meaning that I have no choice but to wheel in the road. There is a drop curb down the side of the cafe making access easier. This is a Chablis wide issue and nothing to do with the cafe. However, sitting outside is the only option due to steps inside. A lovely spot, in the heart of town. A warm welcome; I spoke French and the reply was in good English, before they switched back to French, so no awkwardness. 👌 Wide choice of refreshments, both alcoholic and non, with a good and simple food menu; had the best Croque Monsieur that I've ever tasted. 😀
