I just had a very bad experience in V&G. I asked for gluten free and vegan food. I said it two times to be sure. They said no problem and showed me from the menu that most options were vegan and gluten free. I ordered an appetiser and a main course.
They brought me complimentary wheat (gluten) bread twice but I was smart enough to refuse it. My appetiser had cheese and a wheat cracker in it. I almost ate it thinking it's vegan cheese and gluten free carcker but this wasn't the case. I refused the course and finally got a starter that was vegan and gluten free.
At this time I made it clear for the fifth time that I'm vegan and gluten free and asked if the main dish I ordered would be vegan and gluten free. They said yes. When it arrived I started eating but luckily noticed soon that the food had bread crumbs sprinkled on it.
I had already lost my faith for the restaurant and wasn't going to eat more before making sure. I waited for a while if they'd notice the mistake but they didn't so I went to them and sure enough the bread crumbs were not gluten free.
This level of incompetence is absolutely unacceptable and could've led to serious health problems for me if I hadn't been so careful. This kind of irresponsibility shoud not exist and I can't recommend a restaurant like...
Read moreWe had a very mixed experience here, which was surprising given the reviews. It wasn't a good sign when we came in and soon after another customer was expressing their disappointment at the food quality with the waiter. We went ahead and ordered, and while they were out of half the menu items, the rest seemed good.
The waiter was quite nice and while the starter took a while, it was very tasty and artfully presented. That made the main a really unpleasant surprise - it appeared to literally be microwaved frozen vegetable medley over semi warm rice, with a sauce that was like canned gravy. I have no idea why they would serve this, it was simply terrible, especially for $18! We didn't bother staying for dessert and we wished we had taken the advice of the other angry customer. I would...
Read moreHorrible experience. We were 3 people and sat in a table for 4 with the restaurant almost empty. We were not very hungry so we wanted to get 2 appetizers 2 main courses and a dessert. The waitress who was a sweetheart kept hinting that we should get something more but we were truly not too hungry. Eventually, the owner stepped out of the kitchen and told us with a very unpleasant tone that he cannot make a menu for 2 for a table of 4 (with the restaurant empty). He was incredibly impolite and came out in a very informal way and bad vibes. We then just got up and left. This restaurant would not be welcoming at all if it wasn’t for the waitress, but she obviously has no type of command given the shade...
