I cannot thank the team at this wonderful restaurant enough for the exceptional kindness they showed to me and to my family. We had just begun eating our meals which were delicious, we were really enjoying them when my eldest son began to have an Epileptic Seizure, he began to scream and shake uncontrollably. The team at the restaurant was so kind and supportive. My wife and I were both scared for our son and so sorry to cause disruptions to the wonderful atmosphere for the other diners. The team called an ambulance, and found a doctor among the other dinner guests to help my wife who is also a doctor. I am happy to report that my son recovered safely from the seizure. After the ambulance arrived and stabilized my son, I went back an offered to pay for the meal. The owner/manager refused to take payment and the staff all wished us Bonne Courage. Unfortunately we left Avignon the next day to return to the USA so I was unable to return to thank them properly. I will upon our next visit to Avignon. I hope everyone who visits Avignon will dine at this wonderful place and meet this group of kind and hospitable people. Vous et le meilleur des meilleurs! Merci Beaucoup!...
Read moreTotally ok restaurant. 4,4 out of 5 stars? Most definitely not! The food was fine, but it seemed like they didn’t even try. Camembert is good because it’s good, and a steak is a steak. But that was it. Definitely no heart. And they served fries with EVERYTHING. They didn’t have space in the main restaurant so they put us in what seemed like an extra garage?
The service was extremely uncomfortable. Everything was so fast, and they missed parts of our order. They didn’t check in on us at all, they just stared at us from behind and then almost slammed a cup of condiments on our table without saying anything. (We didn’t ask for these) They asked us three times if we were done when we were not, and it really seemed like they wanted us to leave. The lady next to us dropped her scarf and they just stepped on it instead of moving it. The waiters shouted and pushed costumers. The list is long… Definitely overrated. Just don’t, you have so many...
Read moreOur hotel concierge recommended Le Vintage, so we booked a later lunch reservation here. When we got here, there were many tables dining outside, and a long line of people going to the counter to pay their bills, though the interior of the restaurant was pretty empty. The interior wasn't the cleanest, but also wasn't extremely run-down either.
We ordered two of the entree + plat menus. For the entrees, we got gazpacho and the terrine. The gazpacho was average and the terrine was slightly above my expectations, with the portion being on the larger side. For the mains, we got the tomato burrata salad and the cod fish. The salad was mostly large-cut tomato and pretty much tasted as expected. The cod fish underperformed in my opinion. The fish itself was a bit chewy and the rice was only passable (though I'm very particular about my rice). I would say the meal as a whole was adequate for a casual lunch, but not particularly exciting...
