We had Francois Laloue our bread and cake and several types of cookies for our recent event . Fresh baked bread all day long. They give you generous samples to try but then you want to buy all of them, has been our go-to bakery for years– and we would not trust anyone else to make our cake! Their items are always fresh and the icing is not the overly sweet kind you may find at some places. Maison Francois Laloue took the time to sit down with us for our tasting and to plan out our cake design and the number of cookies. The cake was beautiful and absolutely delicious! They perfectly executed the design that we wanted and it turned out to be very elegant. And the cake was so flavorful — like we knew it would be! This place has amazing freshly baked bread. I feel that a lot of the 1 star reviews are unfounded and unjust. I was up the street at Laiterie Gilbert when I mentioned to the store clerk I need fresh bread for the charcuterie. Luckily the wife of the owner was in line as well. She called the bakery, as it was close to closing time, to notify them that we were coming and to stay open for us. The ladies behind the counter were very patient with our broken English and took the time to explain each bread selection. We settled on their specialty, the bread that has a hint of orange. Low rating because the ladies working there were not helpful and downright b*tchy. Cakes and pastries are good but because of the unfriendly employees, I wouldn’t go back. We went because of a recommendation from a friend who was born and raised in Avignon. We had a great day sightseeing the area and after a full day of walking, we walked out of our way to get some French pastries- and with this experience, it left such a bad taste in your mouth and ruined a nice day...We are not oblivious to personnel like this, we live in Milan Italy.
