This restaurant has a bit of a private kitchen vibe, as can be seen from the photos of previous diners. The menu changes with the seasons, and even the side dishes for the same main meats vary.
For my season period meal, there are 4 main dishes to choose from: steak, fish, pasta, and chicken. Being a carnivore, I went with the steak.
🥩Smoked Pepper Sauce Steak Just by the name, you can tell it's not a traditional French dish. Unlike traditional sauces like béarnaise or hollandaise, this smoked pepper sauce is likely a modern and innovative creation. The orange color sauce on the steak reminds me of the chili oil on Lanzhou noodles. This smoked pepper sauce has a unique flavor, quite distinct from Australian or American-style steaks.
🥩Basil Cream Pasta This is a classic Italian-style dish. The rich basil-flavored cream sauce coats the pasta, making it irresistible. The cooked tomatoes add some texture to prevent it from being too monotonous, making it a top choice for pasta lovers.
🥩Pastilla of Saint-Marcellin Cheese with Almonds and Honey This is an appetizer. The cheese is heated within the pastry, and when you cut into the pie, the warm, thick cheese oozes out, becoming a creative salad dressing. However, this cheese flavor doesn't focus on salty or savory, which may not be to everyone's taste. It's a bit like when foreigners try peking stinky tofu for the first time; the initial taste sensation is the "stink."
French desserts never disappoint, and this one was no exception. The hot dark chocolate and cold hazelnut ice cream complemented each other, providing a beautiful ending to this meal. The only drawback was that it was a bit too sweet, but this seems to be a characteristic of local desserts. Whether it's one of the reasons many locals have hair loss issues...

Their a la carte menu has plenty options for meat and vegetarian lovers. They pay attention to allergies and confirm this with you after ordering.
Aside from their a la carte, they serve this lunch menu set for 18€. It includes a main, dessert, glass of wine, and close it with a coffee.
We decided to give it a go since we saw other locals ordering this menu without a blink.
The food was very tasty! The combination of the sausage, potatoes and the broth was perfect. The rice pudding was surprisingly good. The goat cheese options paired with the red wine was damn tasty. As for the a la carte Pear dessert, I would have preferred the pear served on a different temperature level. In my experience it was served way too cold.
After driving couple hours from Monaco we were ready to relax a bit for lunch, and enjoy some tasty food and drinks. We had such a great lunch experience. I do not regret making the decision driving to the city of Avignon and find...
Read moreWe had high expectations for this restaurant located in the middle of town. It’s a small place, run entirely by one person who both cooks and serves the food. While the service was very fast, this was likely because the dishes were precooked. Therefore, the taste of the food was not as good as the newly cooked.
Unfortunately, one of the starters didn’t seem fresh, and when we asked the waiter about it, he insisted it was completely normal. After the meal, I experienced stomach issues—even though I had only partially eaten the starter. When I contacted the restaurant, the response was quite dismissive. The owner insisted the food was fine and even suggested the issue was on the customer’s side, showing little sympathy or willingness to help resolve...
