Quick summary: spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, nicely appointed bathroom, but some cautions: no elevator, but staff very willing to help with bags. No AC - fine for late September when evenings are cool, but warmer months may be difficult. Decent WiFi and convenient outlets to plug in. No in-room coffee/tea maker. Good continental breakfast. Free parking in nearby public lot. In-town location for restaurants, shops.||We stayed here one night as we made our way back to Bordeaux airport, after a few weeks of touring in these parts.||Room 3 has a king bed (two twins pushed together) and a single bed - may be ideal for a couple traveling with a child. The room overlooks an inner courtyard.||The furnishings are rather spare, but there is an open closet with some shelving. Also, there are a few conveniences that one might expect in a room of this type, but even a few of our four-star hotels did not get right. This king room had places to rest TWO suitcases (yay, second luggage rack!) and convenient outlets to plus in your digital devices.||There is also a little desk in the room, and a few upholstered stools to sit on.||Small flat-screen TV, that admittedly we did not use.||Very clean bathroom with roomy shower stall, liquid soaps.|| Very nice continental breakfast for 10 euros consists of a pastry/bread basket, delish fresh fruit cup, yogurt, coffee, and juice - all high quality.||The restaurant was closed on the day we visited. There is a bar area, but again, after a full day’s drive, we were just interested in an early (for these parts) dinner in town.||The in-town location is convenient to restaurants, shops, including some attractive perfume shop and one that specializes in table linens.||Friendly, helpful, professional staff throughout.||Due diligence: as noted above, no elevator, but staff helped bring the luggage upstairs. Those with mobility issues might have a problem.||No AC. There was a very quiet fan in the room, but the room cooled off at night in late September, so we did’t need it. We often do not need a down comforter, but I used it. My husband makes himself comfortable by removing the duvet from the slipcover, and just sleeping under that.||Still, it might be more of a problem in warmer months. I like that the windows open to cooler night air, but street noise might be an issue at busy times.||No coffee/tea maker. It’s been quite a while since I’ve stayed in a hotel room without one. Perhaps one in the lobby would be nice - I enjoy having some tea in late afternoon.||As the place is in town among the tangle of streets, just keep following the signs until you get to a “blocked”pedestrian street. What looks like a half-barrier to the pedestrian street still allows you to take a quick left to reach the hotel (I asked a helpful local - you are permitted. ||Free parking is in a town lot a short walk away.||So - this was a nice, comfortable stay, but please note some issues about whether this is the right...

We arrived at the Hotel chilhar for 5pm, this is the only time you can book in, so the efficient receptionist booked us in give us our room keys & door code for evening access, we then booked for dinner at 7.30 as this is the time they start to serve diner. She then showed us to our room. We had a lovely garden view the room was immaculately clean. Good size shower cubicle and room beautifully decorated. Towels supplied too. Now I don’t demand a lot of a hotel room, however! I do like a kettle to make my own hot drinks. And I also like a fridge (not essential but nice to have) also as the room was quite small it got rather warm in the night & we got very warm, there’s no AC and not even a plug in fan available? There where signs in the room that says NO hot food or drinks in your room. However, The restaurant was very very good. The food was exceptional and the wines too! All in all pluses and negatives 😬 breakfast was good, coffee or tea. Bread & a pastry and fresh fruit salad, and freshly squeezed orange juice and yogurt. All In all a nice stay but would have been more comfortable with more attention to...
