La Trattoria - Pizzeria des Arceaux — Restaurant in Bayonne

Loved it here! We came by spontaneous without a reservation with 6 people and were first seated outside as per our wishes and moved without problems inside when the weather turned. The staff was very friendly, funny and fast at all times. They were lovely and patient with us wanting to try our bit and bobs of the french language (they speak perfect english and are not demanding you to speak french) But now to the food: there is a huge pizza oven in the middle of the room, so you can watch your pizza being made. They were super fresh, thin crusted, well topped and absolutely delicious, good prices too. Desserts were awesome, even though on the pricier side of things, we found, but worth it. We were farewelled with a ringing bell and best wishes from all sides of the staff and it left me feeling " I wish I would be treated everywhere this nicely...

We had three great pizza's at what was recommended to us as the best pizzeria in Biarritz, and from our experience we don't doubt it. I had the Four Seasons (ham, artichoke, mushrooms, capers) and it was very good. Kid got the special Truffle pizza and it was very trufflie and he loved it. My wife chose the Buffalo special pizza and it was by far the best one, she shared a slice thankfully. Sangria's exceeded expectations as well, and inexpensive. Service was quick and friendly, the dinning room was cute and rustic, and the prices very reasonable. They open for dinner at 1900hrs and they fill up very fast. We got there as they opened and 30 minutes later there was a line out the door, even though there is lots of seating, so the reputation for great pizza is...

Worst service I've ever had in France. And the cheese savings shouldn't be green, and it had mildew. It was a super uncomfortable lunch because of the waitress (brown hair and black glasses, try to avoid her). No smile at all, ok, but doing things with bad manners, and we had to ask her twice everything: water refill, check. Actually we asked for the check once, she said "ok", then she went to prepare several tables with cutlery and glasses... When we asked for the check the second time, 10 minutes later, she said that we had to pay at the entrance.
