OCTOPUS — Restaurant in Bayonne

We were attending an event at the Casino.The terrace was quite full with only one waiter.After sitting for 10/15 minutes with no sign of service I went into the bar and asked if I could purchase from the bar.I was told quite abruptly that I would have to wait at our table for service.Waited another 5 minutes,still no service as the single waiter was clearly overwhelmed. After the Event we went to another restaurant and ate. Later when we were strolling back to the apartment we passed and saw that the terrace was empty so I asked the waiter if we could sit for drinks only.He was pleasant and said yes. As he approached us his Manager/boss ( A girl with spectacles on) followed him to our table and told us that she would not be serving us unless we ordered a meal.I explained that the waiter said that it was ok to sit and order a drink. She explained she was in charge and she would not be serving us any drinks. The attitude of this woman was quite appalling. It seems that due to the location of this place they can pick and choose who they want to serve.We left the place with the feeling that this was an anti tourist/British attitude. There are many more friendly/welcoming bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Do not waste your time...

Really bad service. Came here tonight and had to wait an hour and a half for my meal. Ordered a plain salad which the waitress said she couldn’t do, then said she could, and ended up bringing out a salad with dressing and extras. Ordered my beef well done and it came rare and bloody. Waitress completely forgot about my beef order and the other waitress forgot about a plain bowl of pasta for my daughter who was freezing and starving by the time she got it they brought out spaghetti bolognese. Really underwhelming based on the other reviews, and felt like I shouldn’t have even had to pay €93 for such a degrading experience, never again, would not recommend. Beef was also really chewy and chips were overcooked, bolognese my two other kids ordered had basically no sauce in it. Ordered the two bolognese meals from the kids menu and got no ice cream or drinks as supposed to be complementary, never received them. Worst restaurant in Biarritz we have eaten at as regular visitors. Children were so unhappy and so was I, left at 10 o clock in the evening so hungry, after arriving at 8pm. And also no toilet paper in...

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. Everything was excellent — the food was delicious, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor, and the staff was polite and welcoming. I especially enjoyed the hake steak with chorizo and sun-dried tomatoes, served with mashed potatoes — it was perfectly cooked and very tasty.

The only thing worth mentioning is that the service was not particularly fast, and we had to wait a little longer than usual. However, if you are in good company, this is hardly a downside — it simply gives you more time to enjoy the atmosphere.
