Mezze Ona — Restaurant in Bayonne

We live here and decided to finally give it a try. The adage of “an empty restaurant is a bad sign” is definitely true in this case; we’ve never actually seen it with customers, no matter the time or season, and were the only ones there during the lunch window.

It’s very clearly designed as a takeaway spot…so sitting down to eat will disappoint. Prices for the plates are high given the portions and quality of food, and you can’t order the various items individually without first ordering a plate; pita was brought to the table in a plastic bag, dry, and not heated. Nothing besides the labna seemed fresh or good/local quality, everything was reheated/defrosted/prepared behind the front counter, and not actually in the kitchen. One falafel on the plate….chawarma was bland and didn’t even honor the namesake. The manager woman was less than pleasant, but the server did his best to alter course after she dampened the experience.

Honestly if you want authentic lebanese or middle eastern cuisine, I recommend the food truck that parks along Zokoa in the summer, because the man who owns it does tenfold in his tiny truck compared...

Première fois où je sors d'un restaurant en ayant faim...avec un prix ne valant pas ce qu'il y avait dans l'assiette avec un maximum de salade et ridicule kefta à manger. De plus j'ai fait remarquer que c'était bon mais pas du tout copieux et que j'avais faim en restant poli. La patronne n'a pas apprécié ma remarque et m'a répondu avec agressivité. Repas réchauffé au micro onde devant nos yeux,aucune gêne tout va bien. Je ne recommande pas pour manger sur place éventuellement pour de l'emporté et encore autant donner ses sous aux personnes de qualité et faisant un travail correct. Ne vous fatiguez pas à me répondre Madame la patronne gardez votre énergie à faire correctement votre travail.

Suite à votre réponse madame,je pense que vous vous trompez de personne car pas de proposition de dessert. Si vous regardez les avis je ne suis pas la seule à dénoncer la composition de vos assiettes. De jouer la victime en mentionnant votre tristesse n'est pas correct en tant que professionnelle, c'est moi qui devrait pleurer d'avoir perdu mon temps,mon argent chez vous. Vous avez raison de ne pas prendre en compte les avis négatifs c'est comme ça que...

Falafel was quite hard and dry. The tabbouleh was good, and so was the kafta, though it did have a bit too much cinnamon for my liking. Overall, it was very subpar.
