Sole Vino — Restaurant in Bergerac

Sole vino has been one of our top Restraunts in Bergerac for many years . We found it struggled during covid when we visited last due to a reduced menu but that was last year for our anniversary. But on our return this time the beef gorgonzola was back on the menu ! We have our favourite here the bressaloa stuffed with fromage fraise, the beef gorgonzola and their tiramissu. Accompanied with Chanti, or prosseco . Depending on our taste of the day. Prices reasonable for a good meal I would say . 28 euro for main 10-12 euro for starter , Chanti was 26 euro. . However only One server though last night ??? A lovely Italian fellow who was very busy. This surprised me , and was noticeable on timing for thing drink order when seated...

Came with a group of friends and had the worst experience. We weren’t able to order for over an hour because the kitchen was ‘full’ with orders and to top it off, our waitress was HORRIBLE. Extremely rude. When we asked for more bread, she said we were eating ‘all the bread’ and said the chef was preparing something for us. She then brings 3 small plates of focaccia. When we went to pay the bill, she charged us 6 euros for the focaccia arguing that we were ‘eating all the bread’. Worst service and we saw cockroaches in the restaurant! Visited Sole Vino last night for dinner, we hadn’t reserved but were given a table as it wasn’t busy. Waited 15 minutes to be given a menu but they never took a drinks order. We waited another 20 minutes before deciding to leave as nobody came to take an order from us. Very disappointing service.

We walked a short distance along the road to Chez Tony another Italian restaurant and it was an excellent friendly service.

Sole Vino could learn a lot from Chez Tony!
