Coffee was good, I can taste different aroma in cappuccino and staff very helpful for telling me what beans they used - for that morning it was Brésil. I did not take a bag with me, staff asked me few times did I take a bag, seems like they’re worried getting stolen — I was more surprised than offended. I hope they did not get stolen often and charge that in a cup of coffee, the 250g bag of beans was very good value however per cup of drinks they offer is not as cheap; I would recommend to try it yourself though, four stars because if I am fragile hearted I would get seriously offended by being suspected as a thief. Service is poor; they offer all sorts of filters (it tells you to ask) but the barista just said he can’t make them because he’s too busy on the weekend (there were 3 other people there when we arrived). No issue if you are busy but acting like we asked something out of the ordinary is strange. Batch brew is good but very small for €3.50 (batch brew is cheap to make & hardly any labour). There are much better coffee places in Bordeaux like KURO & Blacklist. Both places have much better service too. Probably avoid this one as there are plenty of quality options...
Read moreThinking of this cafe still makes me nostalgic for Bordeaux. This was close to our hotel, The Mercure, and we stumbled upon it by accident. We had another place in mind that morning but were running late for our tour and stopped by here instead. I've never had a better croissant in all of France. I think they only make a few a day if my French was up to par that day and I felt bad to want another in case there was another person who didn't have the culinary privilege.
