Good memories of Yarra in Victoria and now, very good memories of Yarra, here in Bordeaux, a fab Franco-Australian wine bar and restaurant in the heart of Chartrons. They've got a big cozy terrace on the little square in front of the Temple des Chartrons next door, but unfortunately that was fully booked. They suggested the high table in front of the restaurant, with which we were very happy. Even in 2025 in a big city like Bordeaux, it's difficult to find a restaurant with vegetarian options on the menu but the Australian trendy influence is clearly there! Lovely atmosphere, great food and the staff (and the owners) were very friendly, what else do you need? We'll definitely be back....

Upon courteously inquiring whether the establishment was open, given the wide-open doors, we were met with an unjustified and dismissive “look and think,” only to learn it was closed.
The interaction suggested an unwelcoming attitude toward us as foreign customers, converting what should have been a pleasant visit into a deeply humiliating encounter.

Read moreAfter a recommendation from a friend we visited Yarra whilst in town for the rugby, and all I can say is Wow! We were definitely not disappointed. Owner Aaron was a superb host, offering us expert insight into the wines we sampled, which matched wonderfully with the amazing selection of tapas style food we were served. Great venue with a brilliant atmosphere and very attentive staff. So good that we booked straight away for the night after! Absolutely no doubt we will visit again if we pass through Bordeaux again...
