Magasin Général — Restaurant in Bordeaux

Great place. We went to the take away spot. Food was homemade and fresh. Yum! 3 stars only? Well, mostly because of the attitude of the young waitress at the restaurant. We sat outside and like any food court, there are tables everywhere so you can seat. She litteraly kicked us out by saying with a lot of attitude that these tables were booked for people eating at the restaurant. (basically the same place serving food in plates haha what a joke). Un peu de tacte et d'explications auraient été les bienvenues Mademoiselle, sans la condescendence encore mieux! It's ashame that in Bordeaux it's always the same story, great food and great chefs but very poooooor service.

Beautiful place, nice vibes.. i really like to go there, browse the whole area, the second hand shop.. The food and beer are good, the staff is friendly, they have very comfortable couches, in winter they make fires outside.. I'm writing the review and just giving three stars because the service (it's selve service, no one's waiting tables) is quite bad, the waiting times/lines are way too long. Today was the second Saturday when a special event was happening, it was very busy and they don't seem to prepare for that staff-wise. Last time we left after waiting in line for beer/coffee for 20 minutes, today i didn't even try inside, the line reached from counter...

Staff is rude and uninterested and live up to the expectation of French gastronomy and hospitality.

When my husband went inside to order, he was told the kitchen wouldn't open until 12. Fair enough. It was 4 minutes to 12. You have to draw a line somewhere.

When it was my turn, I ordered grilled peppers and a burrata salad with caviar aubergine. When I picked up the order, I got eggplant parmigiana and a burrata pizza. When I pointed out these were in fact the ingredients I ordered, but not the dishes, the lady behind the counter started yelling at me for not ordering right. A very Fawlty...
