This was the single worst dining experience of my life. The staff do not have a good grasp of English and our French was awful, meaning communication was difficult at best. It took us about 15 minutes to place our orders because we couldn't understand what it was we'd be ordering. There wasn't even a printed menu that we could point our phones at and get a translation.
Despite the service issues, I understand this is in large part due to the language barrier, so it wasn't too disappointing. The real issue came with the actual food. Whilst my girlfriend received what she expected, they got my order wrong. I attempted to order the one sauce that didn't contain mushrooms, and I received a plate full of mushrooms. After complaining, the order was changed, although begrudgingly.
The sauce was poured over a "beef hash". I assumed this would be similar to a burger. More fool me. Instead, this was a still cold, still raw lump of minced beef. The outside was cooked, in the style of a steak. However, steak is safe to eat raw because the bacteria is on the outside. As soon as you mince the beef, all the bacteria is swirled up inside the meat, and so it needs to be cooked thoroughly, all the way through.
The inside was still cold, so it couldn't have been cooked for more than a few minutes, and as per the picture, it was raw, bright red mince meat.
Quite how they can serve what amounted to food poisoning on a plate I'll never know. Due to the bad attitude of the staff at having to change my sauce, we simply wrapped up the meat in a napkin and threw it in a bin, to avoid any further problems.

Read moreLe Rajistan is a delightful Indian restaurant that exceeded my expectations. The tables were spotless, and the ambiance was enhanced by pleasant background music that wasn’t overpowering—perfect for a relaxed dining experience.
The food was excellent, and for those who enjoy a fiery kick, there’s an option to request your dishes extra spicy. However, if you’d rather not commit to high heat, they also provide a chili sauce on the side, which is a great way to customize the spice level to your liking.
We visited on a Sunday evening, and while the waiter seemed a bit inexperienced with the flow of service, his warm smile and genuine friendliness made up for it. It’s clear this place has great potential, and I’m excited to see how it evolves.
It’s definitely one of those spots I’d love to revisit for another cozy and flavorful meal. Highly recommended for both spice lovers and those new to...
Read moreA wonderful surprise. Delicious cheesy naan and lamb vindaloo. Our waiter was attentive and friendly.
My partner and I were looking for a break from French cuisine, and we love Indian food, so Rajistan piqued our interest. The unassuming facade near the river and quaint but tidy interior were pleasant and casual.
I did not expect to be so floored by the quality of the food. Cheesy naan was hot and fluffy, with cheese still melted. Our waiter told us the cheese was not traditional paneer, but instead made from Ricotta. I'm not strict about these things, especially because it was honestly the best naan I've had. (I must admit I've never been to India; just eaten at a few good Indian restaurants on the west coast of the US). The lamb vindaloo was also excellent, no complaints, very flavorful. And we topped off our meal with sorbet. I highly recommend the...
