Restaurant l'Auberge Provencale — Restaurant in Béziers

Went there for an evening meal with my two grandchildren at the end of our holiday. As with all the restaurants in this run we were approached whilst reading the French menu and directed towards an English one. We decided on the auberge because of previous reviews. The food was good and well presented but did not stand out in the way we had hoped. The choice for vegetarians, as so often in France was non existent and I ended up choosing a starter for my main course and no starter.....a mistake, the starter had clearly been keeping warm and rather than a creamy baked camembert I had a dry mess. Puddings were lovely although better translations would have helped us to understand what to expect! We ate our first meal out of the holiday here. I musta say we were very pleased to have got our seat because by the end of our meal people were lining up outside or get a seat. The food was beautiful as a family we all opted for a set meal Camembert and a sea food gratin…. Me and my girls enjoyed the cheese and my husband loved his fish starter. Then the main we were so impressed with yhe beef cheek cooked to perfection and a lovely big portion and my husband had a veal steak in a lovely steak sauce. Puddings were very good too my lemon tart was delicious. Thank you we will dine here again.
