El Capillo – A Mediterranean Gem of Flavor and Hospitality This is one of those places that stays with you. Every dish is a delightful surprise – a perfect blend of Mediterranean tradition and creative finesse. The pulled beef "hot dog" is a revelation – a dish that could easily stand on the menu of a fine dining restaurant. The grilled dorade with pesto is a sensory treat – juicy, perfectly cooked, and paired with a sauce that elevates every bite.

The tapas? Simply top-tier. The Patatas Bravas with aioli are addictive. The mussels – fresh, flavorful, perfectly prepared. The anchovies – delicate, beautifully balanced, served with roasted peppers and onions – simple yet outstanding. Everything is presented with care and taste.

And the desserts? Absolutely divine. The grilled brioche with vanilla ice cream, caramel, and whipped cream is heavenly. The chocolate version, topped with a butterfly-shaped crispy wafer and nuts, is both artistic and delicious. A sweet finale done right.

A huge plus is the owner – incredibly kind, passionate, and welcoming. The staff is also outstanding – attentive, professional, and warm.

Ok, like most great finds this is a hidden gem on a small backstreet in the lovely center of Collioure. But what a find! Friendly service that warmly welcomed everyone. But please remember it’s a small place so service may be slow when busy—but it’s worth it. We ordered the dorade royale which was perfectly cooked with roasted fennel and a delicious truffle sauce. The starter of a croquettes of petites grisés (tiny little shrimp 🦐) was again perfectly cooked —crisp and delicious. The wine? A small but well chosen list but we loved Domaine de la Preceptorié Blanc. The hostess is very knowledgeable about wine and can offer great recommendations. A caramel cake dessert with vanilla ice cream and a glass of Banyuls to go with it rounded out a perfect meal. It was so good—we ate...

The food is unbelievable! So much thought and love goes into each dish, you can tell the chef really cares about making beautiful food. It's truly art. The freshest ingredients, prepared by an amazing chef.

The service is fantastic too - they spent time to help translate the 3 course menu for us when we didnt understand/weren't familiar with how the menu worked. Really took care of us, the chef came out to check on us and share details about how it was made.

Atmosphere is SO wonderful! It is the best little boutique atmosphere. Good lighting, cozy.
