Had a girlfriend visiting from the US and of course, Collioure is the place to take anyone visiting the South of France, it is beautiful, friendly, with incroyable history and architecture but also extraordinary shops and outstanding restaurants. The 10th of November was my girlfriend's Birthday and we choose to take her for lunch at "Le San Vicens" The restaurant has some very large umbrellas over the tables so it is very well protected against possible change in the weather that can sneak in sometimes in this region. We were welcomed by a young waiter Mateo that actually spoke a little English and was absolutely adorable with his first approach to us , he suggest a table that was in a perfect location, with the view of the forteresse afar and the church on our left and of course a gorgeous ocean view. We started with our drinks, the Kir Royal are Wow!!! my girlfriend decided for the Daurade Royale, My hubby choose the Cesar Salade and I pick The Grill Salmon. As you will see in the pictures attached, bring a strong appetite as the portion are very generous and the food so so so tasty that you won't leave any morsels in your plate, guarantied .... Also, I highly suggest your take your time to eat , take a little break so you can enjoy the delicious desserts🍮🍰 Whe Matteo took our order, he explained the ingredients in details with the most attention to the needs of each of us. He is truly a great asset to this restaurant and has a great talent that often is not utilised when ordering a whole fish, (see video attached of the Matteo removing the bone of the Daurade🐟 with the most detailed technique. The salmon was a cooked to perfection resting on a bed of vegetables with a pepper sauce that was absolutely extraordinary tasty .... The Cesar salad was not just a regular Cesar but a masterpiece of mixed ingredients, (fresh lettuce, Grilled Chicken breast pieces, eggs, bacon pieces, Mango et so much more) For dessert, I definitely recommend the "Moelleux Chocolat" the flavor of the chocolate coulis in the middle just wakes up all your palate senses that you savoure in your mouth just like when tasting a good wine, slowly . The Nutella Tiramisu is served in a large glass instead of a plate, not a typical Tiramisu, in both taste and presentation, a true delight. Read moreI sat down with my family to have breakfast and the waiter who was extremely rude didn’t leave us 1 minute to look at the menu, he came and pretended he didn’t understand nothing of what we were saying and before we could finish our order he took the menu and left. After he came and I asked him for something else and he got angry about it. I I said to him that I wanted to order food and he said “just pay and leave” in French. Nous sommes allé mangé à 6 entre amis pour mon anniversaire,, dans un premier temps nous avons commandé une planche de charcuterie où nous n'avions pas le pain aux tomates prévu dessus, pour plus de 25e nous avons 4 fines tranches de chorizo autant de saucisson 3 mini tranchette de cru quand au fromage tout juste 3 fines lamelles. Il nous a fallu choisir ce qu'on voulait mais pas pour tout le monde pareil 😑 Par la suite il y avait un pavé de saumon, il n'était pas cuit mais archi recuit avec une peau de saumon qui reste bien droite quand on la prend tellement elle est cramée. Le plat de plusieurs poissons idem comment apprécié du poisson comme du thon s'il est sur cuit ?? En ce qui me concerne les gambas ! Du grand n'importe quoi j'ai eu le droit à une purée de gambas oui sans doute aussi cuite et recuite et recuite mais surtout affreux !!! Nos 3 hommes avait choisi 2 plateaux de fruits de mer, les moules étaient totalement périmées, les crevettes loin d'être fraîche ! On nous explique alors que la moule est cru ! Non mais cuite ou crue on connaît parfaitement le produit et le consommons de toutes les manières ! Nous allons faire appel au service d'hygiène ce jour, ce restaurant front de mer doit être fermé ! Aucune excuses de la part de la dirigeante qui nous a renvoyer vers son serveur pour effectuer tout simplement le règlement. Nous avons malgré tout payé en redisant que c'est inadmissible, que le risque d'empoisonner une personne est énorme.... Arriver en renfort le collègue de ce dernier nous a aboyer dessus en disant nous ici on fait 700 couverts donc on s'en tape, le touriste laisse le fric.
