The restaurant which is located five minutes away from the harbor looks good at first sight. It has pasta's, pizza's, fish and more. At arrival the waitor seems nice and gives us a bottle of tapped water (which a lot of tourists will/can get ill from). We didn't drink the whole bottle because we didn't want to get sick. We both ordered some calamaris as appitizer, which tasted good, although i didn't like the little cup with aioli, which made it look like factory food. And one of the two plates was cracked and damaged (not very presentative). After the calamaris i ordered the Entrecote and my girlfriend ordered mussels. Lets start with the dish of my girlfriend. It was a nice presentation in a musselspot with french fries aside. It looked great, although there were almost no mussuls to be found, in the whole bucket at least ten mussulshells were empty. My dish, the Entrecote (with a wine dressing/sauce), looked like it was drowning in the salad dressing mixed with the wine sauce, which was tasteless by the way. A big pool of mixed sauce on my plate. So the cup with aioli let me predict exactly what i thought. Because the meat wasn't medium rare (which i asked for), had a lot of fat on it and was quite tasteless as well. Worst thing is that when i told the waitor i didn't like it, she said: "Oh i'm sorry." But she didn't do anything else, like she does that al night long, for weeks, months, years maybe... when she asked us if we wanted coffee or a desert, i said we had seen enough. I had to pay full price, and after that we took a desert elsewhere. Not coming back to this...
Read moreWe travel fairly extensively, but our time in Collioure was spoiled by this restaurant. We sat down and ordered two dishes and made it clear that we didn’t speak French as the waitress took our order. We then waited an hour and a half for our food while watching tables of 8, 2, and 4 get theirs, all of whom had arrived 30 minutes after us. ( We were 4). When we finally asked another waiter to check on our food, we watched our waitress immediately “find” our meal and then angrily bring us our food. As she was setting down our plates she spoke in rapid French and finished with something we later translated to be “to the old lady” referring to me. The food was hard and soggy, (we ordered a pizza and salad), and the food she brought to us we had seen sitting for at least 20 minutes on the counter, leading us to believe she had left it there on purpose. We left without touching the pizza, as it looked to be the worst quality in all of France. It was a terrible experience only to be topped off with less than subpar food, and not to be recommended to anyone to...
Read moreAvoid at all costs. Despite being a touristic place and being near the frontier, neither of the waiters spoke anything other than French. The fries were from the typical frozen packs you can get from any supermarket for 2 euros. The burger bread was the same dried bimbo bread you get at any supermarket, too. The ketchup and all the others salsas were packed. The rose wine from colliure, which was 19 euros, was watery and salty. We asked for water, and we got water from the sink in an old opened bottle. There was also a big argument with a Spanish family that said the receipt was wrong. A man, dressed differently than the waiters, came out from the kitchen and didn't attempt to communicate accordingly with them at all, raising his voice, basically screaming in French and calling the attention of everyone there, making the family go away, confused. It's the worst restaurant I've been in my life. Totally do...
