Got kicked out of the Restaurant, because I asked if there was an English version of the menu. Very impolite! We can't all speak French!
Response to Reply: I was neither drunk nor abusive! That evening the waitress brought us menus in French and we simply noted that we didn't understand French and asked if she could bring us a menu English or at the very least translate for us. The waitress answered that we could just go if we didn't like it, took away our menus and refused to serve us anything. I'm sorry if we came off as a little bit harsh, since we were very hungry, but we were not impolite to excuse us getting kicked out. We never insulted anybody, weren't drunk and didn't even raise our voices. We didn't make a scene and didn't desturb other customers. Your waitress acted irrationally and I am deeply offended that you first accuse me of being drunk and abusive, before searching in your own restaurant for...
Read moreWe ate here for Sunday lunch after a hectic trip in Bes our old VW Camper van which has been kindly loaned to us by my uncle. Our European trip starts here. We were exhausted after a 3am departure in Bes and a breakdown. We slept on the Ferry and when we got off were starving. This old fashioned restuarant was perfect for us. It is situated over three levels and when we arrived at 12.30 was already mostly full with more locals than tourists.
Having missed breakfast we went for fried food. My burger was a tad undercooked for me being more cooked on one side than the other but the French Fries were great and Beth's omlette was lovely. She loves me and allowed me to steal half of hers. She can eat beef raw unlike me and finished off my burger so it was a fair exchange.
Paper table cloths, fast service and friendly staff who speak good English. It was the perfect...
Read moreThe food was very delicious. My wife had fish and chips while I was convinced by the very friendly staff to try one of their welsh specialties. While unfamiliar with the dish, I did not regret this decision. In total, a welsh is melted cheddar on top (toast) bread with a combination of different ingredients.
The restaurant offers other foods such as chicken nuggets with fries for kids, deserts and (non-) alcoholic drinks.
Unfortunately, we do not speak any French which is in us, so communication with the staff was limited. However, there was no time when the staff was not friendly and tried their best to help us out (in broken English). Google translate helped out a lot that day ;)
All in all we paid 60€ for 1l of sparkling water, welsh dish, fish and chips and two kids menus which came with a...
