La Voglia Di — Restaurant in Calvi

Dont be fooled by well presented food or the 4-4.5 star reviews. This is a tourist trap to be avoided at all costs! The food while well presented is a mirage as it is utterly tasteless and bland.

We ordered focaccia for starter and we received stale and old bread that had no resemblance to focaccia. In essence, it was cheese on toast done badly.

For main, I had spaghetti vongole which was utterly tasteless and bland. The menu would have been more accurate had they advertised 'Dishwater & pasta'.

My husband ordered risotto with scallops which was swimming in cream and again utterly tasteless and disappointing.

I’m so confused how this placed has received 4.5 stars. It is possibly the worst Italian I’ve ever been to. With the price tag of 80E, we felt utterly ripped off.

Corsica has a long way to go with its cuisine and customer service. I don't mind paying 100E for a meal but it has to be worth 100E!

Having told our villa owner where we had gone ,she told us never to choose a restaurant along the port because of the prices and poor quality....

A wonderful place to eat and enjoy the evening. We had the Cesar salad with prawns as an appetizer, wow, the portions are huge and it is s meal! With eggs, tomatoes, fresh and dried, loads of fresh salad and three large prawns. Delicious! We also had the Lasagna, Penne Carbonara and Gnocchi! All amazing dishes. They also have Veggie Burgers! The staff is very sweet and friendly. The Citadelle is just up the stairs....

Dieses Restaurant ist ein absolutes Highlight in Calvi – eine echte Perle am Rande der Fußgängerzone, mit traumhaftem Blick auf die Altstadt und die malerischen Gassen. Die Terrasse ist wunderschön, das Ambiente einfach zum Wohlfühlen, und die Musik rundet die Atmosphäre perfekt ab.

Der Service war von Anfang bis Ende überragend: unglaublich freundliches Personal, aufmerksam, herzlich und mit echter Leidenschaft dabei. Besonders schön: Bei den Spaghetti aus dem Parmesan-Laib darf man, wenn man möchte, sogar im Restaurant bei der Zubereitung zusehen – ein tolles Erlebnis!

Und dann das Essen: schlichtweg sensationell! Die Spaghetti aus dem Parmesan-Laib waren die besten, die ich je gegessen habe – cremig, aromatisch und ein echtes Geschmackserlebnis. Die Gnocchi in Gorgonzola-Soße waren auf den Punkt perfekt und die Muscheln einfach unglaublich lecker und frisch.

Die Portionen sind großzügig, die Preise bewegen sich auf normalem Niveau für Calvi – und dafür bekommt man hier eine Qualität, die ihresgleichen sucht.

Fazit: Dieses Restaurant verdient ohne Zweifel 5 Sterne – und ich kann ehrlich nicht verstehen, wie es weniger haben kann. Absolute Empfehlung für jeden, der in Calvi...
