La Cybele — Restaurant in Carcassonne

Stunned! Of all the burgers I have eaten around the world, here is where I have eaten the best! Full of meat, gorgeous toppings plus the crunchiest of fries. A lovely setting alongside the Canal du midi, great service - and although beyond their control, a wonderful autumn sun!

Other meals also looked great and I would have loved to try them. Huge bowls of salad with lovely toppings (the Camembert with onions and bacon bits seemed popular) and a great looking pork filet mignon. All prices were exceptionally good given the location.

Sadly, they close at the end of September until next May. But probably...

Unfortunately I can only comment on our interaction with staff as we did not dine here. We arrived at Castelnaudary while cruising the Canal Du Midi on a Sunday evening and this restaurant was recommended by the port staff. We enquired about a booking to be told they did not take bookings but we could arrive until 2100. We returned at 2045 to be told they were closed and we were turned away. I’m sure it can be very nice but we felt that they simply did not want...

Met 7 gaan eten, 1 persoon met rolstoel. Aanvankelijk goed ontvangen maar het ging goed fout vanaf de garcon een opmerking maakte dat is wat verse slablaadjes aan een zwaan gaf ( zogezegd omdat er vinaigrette op zat, wat niet was, ik had het nagekeken. ) Mijn opmerking dat hij ze brood gaf, wat ongezond is voor watervogels, schoot hem blijkbaar in het verkeerde keelgat.Vanaf dan negeerde hij ons ostentatief. Een persoon had een menu besteld inclusief dessert dat niet werd gebracht. Terwijl ik naar het toilet was vroeg hij of er nog dessert moest zijn ( maar wachtte niet tot ik terug was) en werd hem neen gezegd. Blijkbaar dacht hij dat het dessert van het menu niet meer nodig was en veronderstelde hij dat ik ook niets wou. Hij bracht dan zonder boe of bah de rekening! (Ongevraagd) . Bij het buitengaan vroeg ik compensatie voor het niet geleverde (en wel aangerekend dessert) maar dat ging blijkbaar ook niet. Excuses waren blijkbaar ook teveel. Uiteindelijk heb ik dan ten gehore van de andere klanten een scène gemaakt zodat ze het dessert toch hebben meegegeven (kon dat op onze boot worden opgegeten. Het eten was akseptabel maar niet wow, de sfeer was redelijk tot lawaaierig en de service was totaal onprofessioneel! Ga daar dus ...
